It Wandered In From the Wastes

A few months ago I ordered the "City Ruins" poster by defonten (defonten.az). I recently decided it was worth laminating and framing to put in my new apartment.

I love the picture's post-apocalyptic theme and relation to the Fallout series. However, the real reason why it is so magnificent is because it show that there is still beauty even in destruction. The sunset in the distance illuminates the beauty in mankind's decimation and shows that even though humankind may be gone, the world still moves on.

This is my most prized possession not only because It's absolutely beautiful but because it perfectly encapsulates in a single image my connection and love for the Fallout games. This is why I spent the money to frame the poster and why it now hangs prominently in the front room of my apartment where it can be seen by everyone.

Has anyone else ordered poster prints from defonten? If so, I'd love to see pictures of them - just to see how they look in different peoples' living spaces. I know this and other images by defonten mean as much to the Fallout community as it does to me. :)

P.S. The painting is not as crooked as it appears in the picture - it just was photographed at a weird angle.

I got it laminated at Fed-Ex and framed at Michael's (an art's and craft's store).

It's about a meter wide so It's pretty huge. I was so excited when it finally came in the mail haha. It was mailed all the way from Azerbaijan to here in the USA (Minnesota) so I feel pretty special :)

Very nice! I wonder how much you payed for the total package, framing , sending it to you etc?

If I recall correctly the poster itself was about $90.
Laminating it at fed-ex was around $20
Framing the poster was the most expensive part, but I got a pretty good deal and only paid about $110.

So in total I spent about $220 on the poster. It was worth it though :)

It's great art, I totally agree, but...

$220?

Wow.

That's the price of 4 prostitutes around here. Or close to 40g of ganja.

I know what I would have chosen. :D

Gratz it's something sweet and amazing rly shows your dedication :)
I would love fallout poster too but never for this kind of money uh!

I would probably done it myself (why laminate?) if only I had copy of sufficient resolution. Still I'm not that fanatic yet :)
