A few months ago I ordered the "City Ruins" poster by defonten (defonten.az). I recently decided it was worth laminating and framing to put in my new apartment.
I love the picture's post-apocalyptic theme and relation to the Fallout series. However, the real reason why it is so magnificent is because it show that there is still beauty even in destruction. The sunset in the distance illuminates the beauty in mankind's decimation and shows that even though humankind may be gone, the world still moves on.
This is my most prized possession not only because It's absolutely beautiful but because it perfectly encapsulates in a single image my connection and love for the Fallout games. This is why I spent the money to frame the poster and why it now hangs prominently in the front room of my apartment where it can be seen by everyone.
Has anyone else ordered poster prints from defonten? If so, I'd love to see pictures of them - just to see how they look in different peoples' living spaces. I know this and other images by defonten mean as much to the Fallout community as it does to me.
P.S. The painting is not as crooked as it appears in the picture - it just was photographed at a weird angle.
