I have never played Caesar III, so I am unable to compare it.
Well compared to Caesar III... Hmmm... There is a relatively larhe similarity between the games, like upgrading households through food, water, luxuries etc (just like Pharaoh, Zeus, Emperor etc). I haven' played much of the military yet, as I've only had a few hours to stuff around in sandbox and a few missions.
A few things I have to add to Duckman's comments. The graphics are similar to Stronghold 2, but better in every regard.
Yeah, I agree here. The graphics are a lot more polished, and clean.
About the loading, the in-game loading is only a couple seconds, so after the long load time starting the game up; it is relatively painless. It also seemed shorter the second time I started the game, so it might be something that only happens the first time the game is played.
The beginning loading time did seem shorter the second time I loaded it, but it was painful. The in game loading is definitely something to be applauded. Super quick.
I would say that CivCity: Rome is definitely better than Stronghold 2 or Space Colony, too early for me to judge it against Stronghold though.
Very much agreed. Space Colony was a great game for a few hours, but quickly lost it's appeal. Stronghold 2's loading and lag really pissed me off so much that it stopped me from playing it altogether. BUT, compared to Stronghold, and it's expansion Crusader, I haven't made up my mind.
I definitely agree with Kotario with most things so far.
I had hoped this would be Ceasar 3 but with a bigger emphasis on military, like Stronghold or Crusader.
Well I can't say for sure yet if the military has more emphasis than Caesar 3, but by the looks of it, it does.
So... good? bad? Worth a try? Any initial feeling as to whether you guys are enjoying it or not?
It's great! Definitely worth a try for those who enjoy strategy town building and management games, as I do. And yes, I am enjoying it immensely
