Well, im trying almost anything to combine those mods.
Miria Mod has no patch, so cant be used with the modrunner.

I try Cult Patch & Friendly Klint patch, but the floating text & leveling up from Miria doesnt work anymore due the patches. I think they overrule or something like that.

Generous Klint Patch with data from Miria is working fine.
Much patches working fine with the data from Miria.
I try different mods by now, but serious want Miria & Klint together. It's possible in the MIB Mod, so what is needed for those two to work together ?

Wenn unpack the patch.dat from acklint2 and just copy it it the data map, klint join me, but not levelup correctly.

acklint2 patch & Miria data notwork together :(
 
Yes, it is easy to do this. Probably all of 2 minutes for someone who really knows how. Start with this: make a list of all the files that the two mods have in common. If those files are the same, get ready to do some work with those. For example, each of those mods has a party.txt file in the data subfolder. Open those two files with notepad and compare them. Copy the information about Miria the Miria mod into the Miria section of the Klint mod, or vice versa. Just remember to actually place the modified party.txt file back in the data subfolder of your game.
Repeat this proces with files like pro_crit.msg and possibly others. If the files exist in both mods, then be ready to compare them line by line (most changes occur at the end of some files, but that isn't a guarantee).

It's not working correctly. Klint not levelup. HP=30

I adjust all files. See one double proto file: 00000484.pro.
I assume this is the basic Miria pro file.
I copy them all in the data map.

After talk to Klint and let him wear his armor he not levelup.
Wenn check the DATA\PROTO\CRITTERS folder the files from klint are gone.
The pro files are not read only, i think this causing the problem. I go check it now.

Almost working fine, only the DISPOSITION is GREY. I can select costum but not change the options. They are Orange, but wenn click on them they give me grey option. Example: BURST is Orange, wenn click on it the options always...etc are grey.

We'll figure this out :)
 
Yes, just keep experimenting. Keep in mind, that multiple versions of the game and mods installed to the same location sometimes causes problems. Try reinstalling the game to a completely new location, then installing your new mod.
Remember, if you put this together right, there is no need to use any sort of modrunner. Who knows if that might cause some problems.
 
Well i did a clean install C:\Fallout2

It was not needed in my opinion, because:

I have several backups in a folder at D:\F2Backup

Basic install, with patch 1.02d, with patch 1.05 with latest update, with the unofficialFO2patch_final-A-UK patch, DNA, LongModV2-1-05, etc :D

Not using the ModRunner much.

If something go wrong or just wanna play another mod (patched or just data folder), i clear the Fallout2 folder and copy a backup in it.
This option keeps the register clean and dont have to reinstall F2 everytime again.

Just empty folder and copy which mod or clean F2 you want :D
The fun also of this is i use a hotkey for Fallout. It's always be there wenn copy a other version :)

So... where is the problem about the DISPOSITION?
 
Yeah, I'm aware of using that shortcut to be able to use multiple mods. I just don't trust using that anymore. Others have reported problems with Klint in the Megamod with the disposition, but I have never encountered it. They had problems with some of the proto files, in that they didn't have the latest versions I had modified. Maybe there is something wrong with the original files...?
 
Ok.. this klint patch was wrong :)
First i donwloaded a new acklint2 patch.
Unpacked it and tried it out.

[Party Member 7] ; pMDoc_PID need to be replaced by [Party Member 7] ; pMKlint_PID

I open and add in Englisch\GAME\pro_msg:
{50100}{}{Klint - Stage 1}
{50200}{}{Klint - Stage 2}
{50300}{}{Klint - Stage 3}
{50400}{}{Klint - Stage 4}
but i think this has nothing to do with it.

Furder there is a problem with the AI.txt file.
I compare the klint and the MIB version.

[PARTY MARIA AGGRESSIVE] and all the other option from MARIA need to be changed in MIRIA.

Also i add in Proto\Critters\critters.lst

Dont know if its matters. Just test it after removing those and all works the same.

Seems MARIA & MIRIA have different levelups.

I made a patch: Klint&Miria.dat compatible with Killaps patch, maybe an option to upload it here?
The patch has original settings, for personel use i adjusted the floating text & levelups.

This is more fun then even play the game :)

Same for Command & Conquer Generals, i make more maps then i even play :D

Well it take another year till F3 comes out. Think i going to try some modding here.

First thing is adjust armor settings from the DNA patch, it overrule the Adv. Pwr Arm MKII. Not good in my opinion.
Well not much critters wear this armor, but Miria looks nice in it.

Where can i find info about adjust settings and what kind of programs do i need?
I did some developing 10 years ago (Oracle DBA), but im very rusty. I think as a programmer.

Where can i find info about adjust settings and what kind of programs do i need?

1. The title of the party member slot doesn't make any difference.
2. That .msg file won't affect operation, but it might affect the description when you look at him.
3. Regarding the AI.txt file, I have made changes to many files...sometimes a few changes occurred by accident. Don't think that just because you see a difference between the original and my version that my version is correct. What is the problem with the AI.txt file you mentioned?
4. Same as before: Using Miria or Maria in the party.txt file doesn't matter.
5. If you want to be able to make changes using the official mapper and some other programs, those .lst files need to be changed. I don't know for certain just how important changing the list files is to having the game work properly, though.
6. You can use 1.02 official and killap's fixes fine. You use the 1.05 patch at your own peril.
7. Same for me: I found modding the game as much fun (sometimes more fun) than playing the game.
8. I can't tell you which programs to use. Everyone has their own preferences. The list of tools I use:
Official mapper
Ruby compiler/decompiler for scripts
Cubik's item editor
Fallout Item Changer
Fallout Utility for Critter tinKering
Prototype Editor (version 0.8 alpha)
 
I think the only issue was the party.txt file, Maria wasn't mentioned inside.
The reason why Klint give those Disposition errors, was because i copy a savegame from the temple with Miria to test. Was not the original artemple.sav from Friendly Klint. Everytime his hp was 50 instead 45. So all those modifications in those files wasn't needed :D
No fun running everytime to Modoc.

About patches. I not recall which patch iused but i like to Box :)
It gives me damage resistance. After Masticator bit of my ear i got half Char from what i had (used mentats before) with high luck. With low luck minus 1 Char. A shame it's not in the killaps patch.

7. Yes, wenn playing all kinds of games i try to imaginate whats happen behind the interface :)
Why no one rewrtitten or recompiled the runners wenn wearing leather armor, there a bug in that loop.
Looks like he/she has a broken leg :D

Really that DNA mod is fun, but that leather combat armor has almost the stats from the horrigan armor. Shoot 1001 times with Gauss rifle to kill Miria :D
And also better modify the Bridgekeepers Rope, there's just one of it, if you not cheat :)

Remember, the game reads from the master.dat and critter.dat first. If the same file exists in the data folder, then it overwrites anything in either of those .dat files. However, a patch000.dat file trumps (beats) everything in the data folder and the original .dat files.
 
Interesting. Let's first talk about the Party.txt, so my mind starts to understand the logical processes from F2.

Basic install with Killaps Patch.
I made a patch with only the data from Miria for testing the levelups from Miria.

Let's give them a number;
Master.dat Party.txt »» Party1
Data\Data Party.txt (Miria) »» Party2
Patch000.dat Party.txt (Miria) »» Party3
Party3 has the same data as Party2, we need to activate Party2 or Party3.

If the same file exists in the data folder, then it overwrites anything in either of those .dat files.

So the game first read the master.dat and find Party1 and check the data\data folder and finds Party2.
So Party1 will be replaced by Party2 in the master.dat.
Master.dat use Party2 at this moment.

I assume the game first read the patch000.dat. The patch000.dat has the Party3 that overrule Party1 in the master.dat.

So no matter what information Party1 has, the game will use Party3

Wenn use the f2patchv1.02d patch with data from Miria & Klint in the data folder i have the same problem with Miria, because i have a patch in the root. Also the WORLDMAP.TXT is different. (that's an other capital)
Klint is working well. So again the Party.txt file :(
Even with a Party.txt placed in the patch file, Miria not working correctly.
I tried this to test the Vertibird patch (unpacked patch) that needs to be run with f2patchv1.02d patch.

How solve that problem?
Just unpack the f2patchv1.02d patch and copy it in the folders?

The MIB88 has no patch to mess up the game :)
I try to analyze and compare it.
Btw: The Party.txt calls her Miria too.

ATTENTION! Anything placed in the Fallout2\data directory and sub
directories will not work if you have the patch000.dat installed, since the patch000.dat
overrides the content of the Fallout2\data directories.
Which in this case would override the scripts.lst file.
Found this in a script compiler manual :D
