CRAZY POST-APOCALYPTIC SHOOTING ACTION

Yeah, the last newspost didn't get the attention this long-running post-apocalyptic project deserves, so I thought I'd try this title.

In addition to what we said before, Ethan Taranto-Kent - Mad Nation's director - has now put the Trailer and Sneak Peek on Youtube.

I actually thought the second one was pretty realistic and i really enjoyed it. The first one was great too, but the second one made me more attracted to it. Didn't know what to expect.

I actually like the trailer more. It's been a couple years and it's still cool. The preview doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't feel post apocalyptic. I know this is on a shoestring budget, but at least throw some color filters in there to make everything appear more burned out and old.

Pretty lame.

Also, those are some pretty well-fed post-apocalypse fringers.

I think that if you're going to do something for no money, without any production value, the least you can do is make the story interesting.

Both of those videos promise no story at all, let alone an interesting one. It's mostly just shots of people walking around.

If the apocalypse is going to be that fucking boring, count me out.

With miniscule budgets the camerawork becomes very important. IMO it would immensely benefit from muted color filters (think HBO's Rome or Deadwood), and more close-ups around the head of whoever's walking around. Something that makes it more personal, more "live".

Looks awfull ! the low budget post apoclyptic film my aunt did looked 10 times better then this !!!!
this looks actually like a BAD low budget movie .

I remember that I once made a movie with my friends kept in a Chinese legend atmosphere. We had helluva good time making it, but people usually said it sucked and made no sense (which is true).

Everyone here seems kinda harsh on the trailers, seeing as noone else is attempting anything else of the sort, and the very sparse selection of Post-Nuclear sci-fi films to choose from. It's not like the guys named the film "Fallout 3" or something.

uhh...I have experience with such productions. I doubt these guys will present an at least decent level of act, even if it turns out funny overall. Just look at the level of execution of the whole stuff.

uhh...the director is a film student, so he has more experience than you :ok:

You guys are being harsh, but that's fair. Just keep in mind this is a free product, "never look a gift horse in the mouth" and all that.

I won't appreciate things ONLY because they're free. If it turns out good, I'll praise it. If it turns bad, I'll criticize it. That will be fair.

Okay, to be fair, for a student film it may be good. I've seen several in the past and I know that there are a lot of factors involved that are out of their control.

Hope it turns out well :)

Stone quarry is usualy better background for wasteland. This movie remind me some kind of "western"

That's probably natural. Stories about wandering wastelanders typically have that whole fringe element to it that's very much reminiscent of Westerns. Moreso than any other genre probably as a result of the inclusion of more modern weaponry.
