Apparently scientists now believe that the universe is increasing the rate of its' growth, that this expansion will create a Great Rip that will tear the universe apart.

Good news is the Sun will become a Red Dwarf and consume us all in its fiery embrace before that happens.

So don't worry!

The sad fact is, that my astro-physics professor has been saying this for a while. She's also convinced that time travel is possible, and has been furiously experimenting with it.
 
Well, we will all be dead anyway. And I personally think that we will be beyond Earth, or perhaps even Humanity by that point.
Or dead.
 
So when is all this supposed to happen? 15 billion years? If that is the case I crap on my Grand Grand Grand Grand Grand Grand Grand Grand Grand Grand +a few billion more Grandchildren....

The human race will probably have destroyed itself by then/run out of resources/been destroyed by aliens/natural disasters/wrath of god/the caen brothers...you know, that sort of thing.

Yes, the Sun will become a Red Giant and then, when it has engulfed probably the three first planets of our solar system, it will gradually shrink again to the size of a White Dwarf. Funny shit.
 
But when that happens, a part of the humanity will be already far away from the disaster site...
 
With any luck, by then our species will have discoverd some means of FTL transport and colonised other systems.
