Death Hand?

yeah i had that a couple of times too (only in the american version though, never had it in the UK version

Hmm, I've got the UK and had that encounter.

never said it couldnt happen, just said it never happened to me while playing the uk version

I never have luck above 4, except for this time, because I never had any special random encounters before...

The very concept of the occurence is odd, because being mistaken for Garl's dad only gives you one option, being to kill all of the Khans. You can't even step into the room with Garl in it without him instantly engaging in a discussion. From that standpoint its actually unlucky for it to happen, since you get absolutely nothing special out of it. You're just forced into combat without any chance of planning ahead.

It's a simple game feature. It's come uip before, high luck and/or wearing certain types of armor seems to set this off.

Male, LK 9-10, and passing a 50% random check, that's it.

Armour really has nothing to do with it. (Usually when people say my guides lack details found in others they refer to stuff like this.)

then why don't you just add it? :-P

Now I remember...

I got it the first time I played FO1. Thought it was amusing.

LK:10

Was great for finding all the random encounters/critical hits, and such.

O M G

really lame attempt at humor or just a complete jackass...

::glances in both directions::
who me? uh, take your pick at whichever is more desirable.

Your post looked as if you were saying "why don't you add the armour thing" rather than "why don't you add that it's not an armour thing". As for that, I've done it for many of the more significant myths (befriending the raiders in Fo2, using the Yellow Reactor Keycard, breathing the radon gas with X, using the Shiv, and whatnot), but I don't want to clutter the guides with negatives.

Befriending the raiders in FO2??? which ones??? The Khans??? most important, HOW?

I faintly remember not killing him, when I was seen as the Death's Hand or whatever. I just walked away . Or do I have memory loss?

You had to kill him if you wanted to free Tandy.

You can't befriend them, he just said it was a myth.

On a sidenote, what's this Radon gas myth? I don't remember any in the game.

That if you have item X in your inventory, radon gas in the BH mines won't hurt you.

Or if you have perk X. Or if you have contrived circumstance X. Or if you pour Coke on your monitor.
