Do you know how to summon followers in the console?

Please dont get the feeling that Im all up on myself for not using fast travel, since i seem to mention it every 5th post, but I have not had any companions disappear since disableing it.
 
^ That would make sense since it mostly occurs on map change/load. You're still not safe from it, I hear vault elevators can be problematic.

Also, I'm convinced that over half "disappearances" are actually people forgetting to take their companions off "wait" mode and leaving them at random locations.
 
this doesn't seem to work for me. ED-E stopped moving when I visited Mr House's bunker. he just wouldn't follow me anymore. but he appeared right next to me whenever I used fast travel. then all of a sudden I noticed he stopped doing that too and I can't for the life of me figure out where I saw him last.

he's still alive and he's my companion since people comment on him and I can't pick up Rex instead. but the console command to summon him just won't work.
 
What does the console write when you put in your command? Also, are you using the right code for ED-E?
 
I type in the code, and ED-E's name and code appear at the top of the screen. I tried without "enable" first and it didn't give me anything. first time I tried to put in "enable" it did give me something. I can't remember exactly what it said, but it was something that led me to believe I had issued a follow command to him. he never appeared though. every time I try after that, I get nothing.
