Just to know if you are interested by this new weapon, and the news animation which 'll go with it for all critters?
The fireaxe will be situate between "le cogneur de louiseville" (in french,) and the power slege.

{Don't want to stray from your topic too much, but.. has anyone ever made Sulik's Hammer? A while back, in art repository, I found INV art of it by wild_querty. -Perfect for Primitive Tribe, as 'reward' for rescuing his sis. Plus, sledgehammer frames would apply, right? Only mod the DMG. Never made an item this way, so if this makes no sense.. forget about it.

Definitely would love to see the fireaxe in Fallout. Would be best if it could be made compatible with the RP, but eh.

Also, Unno, I'd definitely like to see that as well. :D
 
I like the idea very much - i hope you finish it Brother! Here's a few points i can think of:

a) I agree with Demonslayer that it needs a little more rust on the head, but i would also give it a shiny steel 'edge'
b) Fallout has alot of melee weapons - and some are just redundant. Like the ever-useless police baton, for example. The spear or the knife are just better in every way. So i think you need to think of a special benefit to give the weapon to encourage players to use it.
c) It doesn't really fit in the scope of the RP as it wasn't intended by the devs. BUT - Helios could use it in his upcoming mod, so PM him and ask him
d) New weapon animation codes (and thus new animations) are only possible thanks to Timeslips Sfall hack (praises Timeslip). IIRC, there are only 2 new animations codes left after my new animations - just something to remember.

I agree with replacing the police batton if the axe is to be added.

Using up one of the two newly available animations codes would be worth it for the axe.

I would suggest giving the axe the penetrate weapon perk.

There's my two cents. ;)

Fireman axe is a strong weapon handing with two hands.
Only Hulk Hogan or The Rock may be able to use it with one hand.
For the police batton, I've another project.

"Le cogneur de Louiseville" use this frame animation (batton police) but haven't is proper frame.
So I project to create it.

For the perk, The user (programmer) of the fireman axe 'll choose.
It's not very really my problem ;)

ITs one of my unfinished project from earlier days.

I still hope i can finish the Metzger Mod but this is impossible without Jostiz help. :cry:

So I've modify a little bit the look of the axe.
With help of continuum.
Here is the result.



then I've change the point of view of the invotory .
More fallout with some perspective.













If it feels good, I'll make the animation starting with this.

Looks better. I would give it an 'edge' something like these fireaxes i found on Google:






And also maybe make the handle look a little less ... new.

I agree. Even if the edge started out red, the sharpening process would expose the bare metal.

Axes are so common they should definitely be in the game.

Reminds me of The Shining...
