Dogmeat doesnt follow to next map

I have made Dogmeat following me by wearing a leather jacket, but whenever I enter a new area, be it another part of Junktown or a whole new city/wilderness grid, he isnt there anymore.

When I return to Junktown he is still there and he follows me again, but only on this single area where you can pick him up.

Anyone knows what to do? Anyone encountered this problem?

From per's guide:

If you return here later in the game without having recruited Dogmeat, you may find that he starts following you once you enter the map. He'll only follow you around this one map, though, and it is then impossible to get him for an NPC.

Is that the case, or is this your first round in Junktown?

Yeah thats it. Thanks. Guess next time Ill have to take him with me when I enter Junktown first.
