i just read about this in creative review and i think the brits are mad enough to do it but still i think its crazy... and i was wondering how (if there are any) the british forum users feel about this...

Could this be the new British flag? In the UK Parliament yesterday, culture minister Margaret Hodge pledged to consider a redesign of the union flag to incorporate the Welsh dragon.

The minister was responding to concerns raised by Welsh MPs who claimed that their constituents’ identity has been suppressed by the current design which does not include a symbol to represent Wales. Albert Owen, Labour MP for Ynys Mon was reported in The Guardian as claiming that “We in Wales do not feel part of the union flag because the dragon or the cross of St David is not on it”.

I'm not british but that would still be more badass then the logo my country has...

LOL, Canadians are famous for its non-Canadianess. You just proved that point by saying that. Still, for what it's worth, they just did a survey a while back, and 80%+ people like the leaf. And since it has pot connotations, all the pot heads voted yes. :lol:

I like the new flag, it's more medieval. I still think HK should have sticked to the old one though. The current dragon is lame compared to the old ship sail.
 
It's the first I've heard that they are actually considering it, perhaps in reaction to people wanting to devolve the union? I've always thought that Wales should be represented. The dragon would work, though not quite so prominent and definitely without the square white background.
 
That looks like a mix of Great Britain's and Germany's flag.

Yeesh. I am all for a bit of Welsh Repression. You think I'm going to be happy with a Union Flag which has the Welsh symbol daubed right on top, or has a SO UGLEH bit of yellow on it?

Do they really have to place it in the middle, and make it so hysterically large?
I'm voting - not as a Brit, but as an European (member states' flags of our eminent continent can't look *all* fubar) - for the St. David's Cross version. It looks much neater.

The Führer does approve. Schnell! Jetzt! Make ze new flag!
