Duckman plays Gears of War

Execution? What exactly do you mean by that Dove? I thought the game was excellent, and I have yet to finish the main campaign.
 
I was talking about Kill.switch.

Handled correctly, and given enough time, Kill.switch could have been great. I liked it, but no more than I like a lot of other faceless action games. There was no motive.

Gears got it right, other than a somewhat lacking backstory.
 
I've bought it. It looks pretty nice, it has decent gameplay, no story at all so far... It may not be worth the hype around it but as an action game it is pretty cool actually. Don't expect much more of it though...
 
Well I just finished the game as of yesterday, and the ending is open for a sequel, but it is satisfactory as far as endings go, unlike the end of Halo 2.

I still love this game, and have started again on the middle difficulty rating.

Four words: Post-apoc, awesome story, guns!

I was surprised not to find a thread about this game already. This is one of the best games I've played this year. I bought it as a christmas gift for my brother and it might well be the best gift I have given away since.. ever? (Considered the immediate usage, laughter etcetera)

It contains amazing graphics, intense action, some of the best character animations (afaik), superb story (post-apoc and all!) and the best coop-game play I have played so far!

I stood in awe as I saw the graphics the first time, and I still do after completing it. It easily gets a 10/10.

Another thing that I liked was the commercial... surely a plus. Worth mentioning is that I have a thing for the unreal engine.. this is, for the unknowing, the unreal 3 engine.. I wish bethesda would use it for fallout 3 (I KNOW...)

I would love to fill in with more details but it's just so huge! And I love it all... (sounds so perverted, but oh so true)

Frankly, the story is not all post-apo. More like an alien invasion.
3rd-person action game is usually not my cup of tea but I agree the gameplay is fun and addictive. Especially co-op <--probaly the reason I will get X360... :roll:

Reason it's a commercial hit: EPIC spent 4mil to develope this game. They have to bombard everything with ad so they can recover their money... :o

Well, the results (alien of no alien) are the same. Devastation. I admire the level designers who did a superb job here (4 mil or not :) )

Hehe 4 well spent mil's I say. They surely set the bar high for upcoming games with this one.
 
I was playing this at a friend's house the other day. It could be a bit frustrating at times, but it was definitely one of the funner FPS's I've played in the last few years.
