Electronic lockpick?

I've started replaying the game recently but i'll be damned if i can't remember where to find one.

Any help much appreciated.
 
Which game, where are you now, which places have you looked already?
How about in *stores*(like in New Reno).

Playing 2.I'm kind of bumming around in the game between Vault City and New Reno,though i have been to NCR and uncovered Redding Broken Hills and Vault 15.I know the Den and Klamath won't have,as well as Modoc and the Ghost farm,not sure if the merchant in Gecko might get it randomly.

I checked the shops in New Reno,and the Bazaar in NCR.
 
Well, the New Reno Arms merchant will carry one usually, and it's also generally available in San Francisco. Other stores may have it (Vault City and NVR come to mind), although there's no guarantee there either.

I figured that their appearence in stock were random.I'm pretty sure there is one on a dead enclave soldier,or in the area,at the mutant base.I just don't want to break character to go there,since i haven't discovered it and it would be cheesey to uncover areas just for thier items and not as part of exploration/story.
 
How have you been to NR and not killed the Arms Dealer? So much free shit.
 
The new reno arms dealer is somewhat better alive. Only real reason to kill him would be to get a bozar, otherwise his stuff is pretty worthless. And if your talking about the Arms dealer outside of ncr, then thats just crazy.
 
Though interesting,your murderous advise doesn't get me the lockpick. :wink:

I can't see killing people just to get their pretty toys,unless of course you are playing a total phsycopath,as the merchants are of better use to you alive than dead.

Though its a dead subject now that i had to restart after patching the game.
 
The merchants in the triangle formed between den redding and modoc sometimes carry Electronic lockpicks.
 
The NR arms dealer has one in his basement, if you're still looking.

Hey thanks for the heads up.

I made it back to the previous point i was at,and was going crazy because one never appeared in any of the merchants inventories.
 
There's also one on the Enclave oil rig, in the barracks section. You'll probably get a lockpick by then, but you can still pick it up there if you lost it or somethin'. :P
 
They sell loads in SF, i think both shops on land and both shops on the tanker can get them, definitely the general store on the tanker and Flying Dragon are decent sources. Also as Per said you can get one in the NR basement which is probably the easiest way.
