yes Welsh, i spotted all those things you mentioned. (i even asked once about night/dark places ;) )

but the picture was incomplete so i didnt know what to do with that (besides, you said we had to try & meet up after daybreak, thats kinda hard with one group in the city & one group in the jungle ^^).
as for the dragonthing i didnt quite see a way to fix it easily so i just freestyled.

note to Mikey: places of worship were supposed to be rather safe too, although the characters didnt know for sure. so the dogs should 'almost' break through the door, but not entirely.

PS: welcome Laven. your sig seems rather rude, please at least disable it when posting in the IC thread... (it's an option just below the textbox)

Ok, Laven- you can join in.

Realize the basic rule- if you don't post every five days or so you can be killed without question.

Also please read how characters are introduced. All stories should start the same way- 12:00 and you've woken up to find the world empty. Ideally we should have some idea about what your character has dreams and nightmares about.

Ah well, we've seen what power the mind can have on things our characters have thought to be certain, so you never know what might happen.

Don't forget, Welsh and I have discussed parameters and so forth for this RP quite a bit.

That's exactly the problem Malky. The mosque survives while the restaurant doesn't because for at least four characters believe that a holy place offers sanctuary (Sobia, Nasi and Khaliq are all muslims, and Sarah found sanctuary in a church and she's not discriminating).

And that might be part of the answer- whether you are safe or not has much to do with what you fear but also what you believe in. Because people are afraid of the dark, that which we fear becomes more powerful. So days are generally safer than nights (though not all together).

So I am guessing Sammy the guitar player is a no-win?

Hmm.. In my post I put that Nasi thought the door might not hold... surely if the door doesn't hold, not much is going to stop the dogs, especially if more people will then lose confidence if they see the dogs actually coming through.

i dont care. i could play a few riffs on his guitar to easy the mood though. :)

btw welsh, i really dont curse that much. ;)
(i'm more of a sarcastic kinda guy)

Yes, Mikey that was the problem. I wasn't sure how you guys would run with it. If the non-believers won out, than the believers would face the problem that their sanctuary wasn't quite what they hoped it would be, and so fear triumphs faith.

That said, you got the dragon instead, so in this case faith wins and nightmare dogs go hungry.

I purposely neglected to read anything that happend before me. because would I really know these people if I just landed here?

No, you wouldn't. But you would know what the story is about or some notion of the rules of the story.

Since it's only a few pages you aren't being forced to read much.

Some general themes-

(1) Everyone should wake up at noon and find the world empty of everyone they know and most of the people they don't. First day is usually alone.

(2) Everyone should be coming to see some manifestation of the things that scare them. The worse or more personal the fear, the more intense.

(3) The zoos and all the other animals seem unaffected by the missing people. In fact all the zoo animals seem strangely free.

(4) Lights are on and energy is still flowing.

(5) Night is when bad things come.

(6) Bad things come in dark places.

(7) The bad things that come from one person's dream will haunt another person's wakefulness.

(8) People and 'bad things' tend to dissolve quickly when they die.

(9) People can be killed by bad things even
during daylight hours.

(10) Asians (Chinese and Indians) seem to be a disproportionally represented community among the 'surviving' humans.

Yeah...I kind of noticed that the people in the resteraunt kind of have it a bit tougher than those in the mosque, heh. Werewolves downstairs, dragons outside, and a dead alien/nightmare in the closet. What more marvelous fun will fill their night I wonder?

Im sorry I havent been as active as I could have, been dealing with...well.....stuff.

Anyways, tomorrow I should be able to post here, and on other roleplays. I want to make a decent post, not something crappy I throw together.

(Sorry about double post, but I want people to see this as a *new* post)

What are you kinding- the disintergration of Chris and then the drill to the head? That was cool.

Ok, more info. Since we are the characters, want to discuss what's going on? Or shall the next step me moving towards something new?

i'm very interested to keep this going, but i'll be swamped with work until next week wednesday.
(3 university grade exams on three consecutive days will be a painful experience)
