Russ Pitts, the Escapist editor who got a lot of flak on the inaccuracies in his Fallout 3 preview, interestingly headline this week's issue of Escapist, which is a whole fascinating take on game journalism. If you're puzzled by the varying quality of the recent bevy of previews, take a look.

Wow, there's an excuse to being corrupt?
I can't believe some of these people actually played Fallout 1/2. Fallout had some of the best design elements and writing of ANY game in history, yet it's being trading in for dumbed down gameplay and "immersion". To top it off, everyone in the gaming media is praising it.

I surely hope a meteor hits the Earth or some country initiates a nuclear war. Earth needs to clean house.

After a few centuries of horror and suffering we will get BETTER GAMING JOURNALISM!

Hell yeah, let's start the cleansing!
Hah, I guess that was just a little extreme.

Wow what a topic, I read through the entire 8 pages. 3 hours of my life gone.

I kinda figured the writers were under the gun generaly. Really somebody higher-up was screaming for info to there lacky's they sent to the event. Screaming so much and probably threatening to the point writers just fired off a quick typed email to an editor and with the editor trying to beat everybody to the punch, puts up the text with out any checking or cross referencing.

Prolly just ran spellcheck and then copy pasted it.

Russ' style of defense was pretty lacking. While he did change the facts after several requests, I don't know what the hell his deal was with blatantly attacking Van Buren. Gaming styles change over the years, sure, but how the fuck can you go from "loving" Fallout 2 to completely praising Fallout 3?

The people that say we want an expansion of Fallout 2 are ridiculous. All these people want is Oblivion in the Fallout setting. Ugh.. I'm reconsidering my nuclear war comment.

I dunno, starting up that forum topic over here might be a bad thing. In My Opinion.

I do agree though alot of what can be felt here was expressed over there in a quite honest from the heart statments.

I think if Bethesda pulled a Valve and released a vid of the entire showing with its demo, like they did with Half Life 2 and the Source engine. It could be more easily desected and negative commentray would be more exceptful to others. hell the na-sayers might find positives.

In my personal Opinion soon as I read people from NMA in a post through that link, I smiled. Those 3 letters are starting to turn into a badge of honor, or a badge or rebellion. heh
