Et tu RTS, then fall PC games

Both the old pervy and young pervy. Ever looked at the crowds who watch the DoA volleyball games running in the shops?

Almost all straight males will lock eyes on an image of a scantily clad woman anyway.

Considering the game has hero units like Warcraft III, I'm pretty sure she's one of them. Maybe Cleopatra. I mean, look at Germanicus Ceasar. Realistic-looking? No. But that's also what makes it fun.

This game's screens look great, like an arcade version of Rome total war (oh, and the naval battles... *cums*) and the trailer is even better. Add the fact that you can play as your hero unit in a third-person view on the battlefield. This game is basically like a dream for me.

It's definitely my most anticipated PC game of 2005, along with San Andreas. I was going to make a thread about it, if nobody had gotten to it first (and for the wrong reason).

Not to gravedig but we were talking about the settlers... looks like Gamespot wasn't a fan of the new and improved sex machine heroes :). Got a 6.4...

have any of the bigger fans here given it a try? Is it as dismal as they say? Or is everyone staying away from the mess that seems to have been created. Ah well... no matters to me, I'll stay home with my Rome Total War anyway :).

It's one of those typical cases of "Let's forget the fanbase we built up over the years and move to a completely filled up niche for some strange reason."

Settlers was renowned, original and legendary in its approach. The slow pace, the satisfaction you felt when you produce your first gold soldier - knowing you've set up everything right, and that you're ready to invade. Building up your economic chain to squirt out that last gold coin you need to buff up your soldier so you can take that last castle... There was nothing like it. It's what made 'Settlers': it didn't make it a hit, but it did make it a damn good game. It had its fans, and its fans were loyal.

So, now they apparently decided to make it an oldschool Age Of Empires clone. Another one. And a very bad one at that too, apparently.
I don't get why game publishers do that, really. Allright, the Volkswagen Beetle sold well - did that mean that Mercedes or BMW suddenly turned their production around and only produced Beetles? No. They continued building their cars, because they were smart enough to know that Volkswagen and Mercedes catered a differend audience, and the Beetle-market was almost completely filled up with Volkswagen's cars anyway. They may not sold as much cars in numbers, but by God - their cars are legendary too. And they're still around, and they're still making money.

The stupidity of game publishers continues to amaze me.
