Explorer Perk

In order to gain the full benefits of the Explorer perk (I wish to be able to get special encouters easier), does my main character have to have it or do I simply have to have a member of my party with the perk?

It would make sense that the entire crew would have to have this perk in order to fully gain the benefits, but one character would increase the odds of course..

So perhaps if I simply got rid of my entire party except my main character and someone with high Outdoorsmanship and the explorer perk my chances of running into special encounters would increase...

I'm sure that the best skill counts. No penalties for having other squad members.

Skills like Small guns are used per character, but Outdoorsman, perks for outdoorsman and such are beneficial for entire group.

And therefore should be only on one character, else it would be a waste of perk(s).

certainly. that can be exploited, as you can keep one char for bullshit perks only. ie. I used one of my main chars for barter (at 160% I get really nice prices) and steal...
