F1 - dead bodies with items

First time out of the vault
Do dead bodies that have some items in their inventory disappear after some time or do they stay on the map permanently?
 
I'm not sure... bodies disappear after a while, leaving a puddle of blood behind. I'm pretty sure that any items that were left in their inventories just lie around in that puddle.
 
That blood can obstruct the items making it impossible to pick them up, but the blood itself will disappear too after enough time has passed so you can pick up the stuff.
