Fallout 1 and 2 collectors item?

You guys'll love this.

I still have the original boxes for Fallout 1 & 2, the Fallout 2 manual and the jewel case box, but the actual CDs have been lost or stolen over the years.

Pretty shitty, huh?

Well, at least you have the origonal box shit.

All I have is the dual jewel set, with the pdf manuals.

I have been able to find the original ones in one store, they still have them, unlucky for you that it's in Finland. I'll go and get a few of them today.

I have the original boxs, manuals, and cases for 1 & 2. I think the store up at the mall still has the boxed double pack.

I haven't thrown away any of my game boxes yet...just call me a pack rat.

wow, thats crazy. I wonder how much my original FO1 would sell for. Everything is in the box including the "quick reference card". Anyone have the quick reference card? I have the original FO2 put away too; also in perfect mint condition.

Yep, I have me my reference card. The Fallout 2 box faired pretty shitty, though, so I tossed it and now keep both games in o.g. Fallout's box.

If the game is so expensive, there must be quite a demand for it. How awesome must a game be to sell seven years after it was released? I don't think Fallout: Piece of Shit will be selling for $90 seven years from now...
I've seen it for $14.99 USD already. And it's still not selling. It may end up being collectable for being the example of corporate greed.

I saw Fallout for 10euros here in germany, on the shelves
of a Karstadt warehouse, with the original boxing,
months ago.
Some folks at amazon, who privately sell it,
are giving it away for 1,90euros.

I for myself had no room anymore for storing all my boxes,
after moving from the old flat,
hell, I don't know when I bought these over 100 games,
which art collecting tons of dust under my desk.

Nostalgically remembering the old wall with boxes
from Jagged Alliance 1,2 and Deadly Games,
the early Mechwarriors, X-Com, Utopia,
ZakMcKracken, Monkey Island, The Ultimat RPG ARchives,
the Forgotten Realms Collection... and so many a more...

And Fallout 1+2, That goes without saying. :D

Karstadt, hm? I really need to check them out then.

I have three shelves, all of which store my boxes on top of them. They are not all games I have, but they are some of the best.

You want a collector's item? How about this one. Anyone on this board who can tell me what it is? (BTW I know what it is - I have it - I am curious how many of the other "faithful" there are) Unopened, no less...

Gecko.jpg

If you search the boards very carefully, you may find a post by someone who's opened one, and the origin of the can itself.

My bet it's a toy gecko..?

I would give much for both fallouts and the manuals...The fallout1 manual I got have been well..dishonored *cries*

Tough to photo the copy on the back of the "Gecko in a Can". Here's what it says:

It was a press item they used for a press mailing to all the game editors pre-release. Krys Card was the PR Manager for Black Isle for a number of years. (Look in your Fallout2 manual) I think they actually featured it in a PC Gamer or CGW article back in '98 (tchochke of the month). I seem to recall a photo of an editor wearing it...
