Fallout 1 - Doorway to Gun Runners blocked?

First time out of the vault
Hey, been playing Fallout 1 on Steam and ran into a problem.

Spoke to the Gun Runners in the Boneyard to get weapons for myself and my companions but after leaving and coming back, a Gun Runner now blocks the doorway (Have a picture, but it's not letting me post it)
I did look it up but the solution mentioned about renaming the map file didn't seem to work, what do I do?

Go to the north east, over the green puddle instead.

Well, I tried that and it didn't seem to work, the jerk was still standing there:

Don't they randomly wander about? That's how they get stuck there in the first place.
Maybe just leave your game turned on, and go watch a movie or something, come back, and see if anybody's moved?

Just shooting in the dark here. There's a reason FO2 came with a "push"-function

He doesn't seem to be moving at all.
All I know about this is Per Jorna's walkthrough mentioned them stopping when you leave the map:
If you asked for weapons for yourself, you can leave the map and return (the wandering guards will stop wandering), then talk to Gabriel again. He'll act as if he never rewarded you for killing the deathclaws, and you get another 1000 xp. You can do this any number of times until you tell him to give weapons to the Blades.
Wasn't planning to seriously abuse this, just wanted a way to get some good weapons for me and my companions (Plasma Rifle to be Turbo'd for me, Power Fist for Ian in addition to his .223 Pistol and a Ripper for Katja. Along with the cash to finally get some surgeries and maybe a Sniper Rifle for Tycho).
I suppose I could try leaving my game on, but of course it would have to be "in the front", because it seems to stop when you Alt-Tab away, at least in the Steam version.

Sorry to bump, but got an update.

Left it on for several hours in this area and when I came back, he was still standing the exact same spot, didn't seem to budge an inch...
