Hello. I created an account to ask some questions about Fallout 1 and the encounter tweaker mod. I also wanted to ask what exactly the rate of the encounters are, if it's possible to find this out.
So why would I want to ask here? I'm investigating a very suspicious Fallout 1 speedrun. (links will be below this post). Basically, the runs in question spends a little more than 5 minutes maneuvering the wasteland map. Only 1 encounter in this run happens. The average though, is about 5-10 encounters. So how rare is it to get a 1 encounter run-through. If someone here knows about the encounter rate in this game, that would be awesome.
Also someone else might ask, why would you think that? We had another runner of the game obtain a full Any% run in 4:39, but he admitted in private messages that he downloaded the encounter tweaker and used it for all his runs. The runner I'm questioning used to be very much associated with him, and even emailed the encounter tweaker to him at some point so he could use it in his runs.
The runner in question denies using the encounter tweaker for his runs. He didn't only get it in 1 run, but 2 runs, completed within a week of each other.
So my question is: what's the rate of the encounters, and is spending over 5 minutes in total on the world map with only a single encounter possible or at least someone telling me how rare it is?
