Fallout 2: Highwayman Lost in the Den!

I have Fallout 2 with the latest patch, and everything's been going smoothly. I drove my Highwayman to the Den, parked it in East Side, and killed Metzger. Note that I did a LOT of saving and reloading during that fight. Anyways, I got out and did that mini-quest where you deliver Smitty his meal. Once I was done, I noticed that the car was gone. I checked every possible exit on the map for two hours, and nothing. I even went back to the place you buy it, and it wasn't there. I went everywhere, even to the last town I'd been to, and nothing.

...Is it gone permanently? I'm not reloading an old save. Although, I'm sick of technical problems ruining my playthroughs. I've had to start over four times now for various, unrelated reasons.
 
Start over again.

All I can think of is - did you accidentally also hand Smitty a car-part, making him fix it, making your car appear at his garage, where you originally found it?
 
If your car is lost in the Den, then it is a bug. Can't think of why, though, but your car is gone. There are no cheats or codes to bring it back
 
I heard about something called a save game editor- could I use that to place the car in its proper position?

EDIT: Meh. Might as well just reload a previous save.

I've never used those editors, I dunno what they do, seems like a hastle to me

Take comfort in the fact that - if your game is fully patched, then such a glitch should be almost impossibly rare. I've only heard rumors of the car disappearing for no reason, so... unlikely to happen again. Have you looked into any unofficial patches, just to really seal it up? (you give the impression that you get a lot of bugs)

Yeah, I reloaded a previous save. Everything's going great now! Advanced further than I ever did before.

I actually haven't encountered many bugs. One playthrough, Darion disappeared so I couldn't kill him. This would prevent me from getting the good endings for both the NCR and Vault 15, so I restarted. Another time my computer did an update while I was playing and it got stuck in the screen resolution of the original games- took two days for me to figure out how to fix it. Other than that, I do get that glitch where the screen flashes in random colors while playing.

It sounds like a lot, but I haven't really been plagued by any bugs outside of what I've mentioned.
