Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.2 is Live

I don't know about the other modders who've made "major projects" but you've definitely been motivation/inspiration for me to continue modding. :salute: Hopefully in a few years I'll have something as awesome and expansive as yours is.

Some questions because I'm annoying like that:
1) Remind me exactly what year F2RP and F2UP began development?
2) Now that you're "done" are you going to visit NMA less frequently?
3)How easy would it be to tell from your Changelogs exactly how many bugs Fallout 2 had? Was it in the hundreds or thousands?

final version

What if I play it and come up with a list of 478 remaining issues?
Honestly, I've always wondered if you had ever played a version of the RP yet. I'm curious to hear your thoughts, as well as from other veteran NMA members.
If Per does this with my mod it should probably wait until something like 2020 . Fallout 1 has at least a couple hundred bugs even after TeamX patches and my current fixes.

It used to be that there weren't big enough time gaps in my guide update cycle to play the games just for fun. Then I hit kind of a snag in the cycle and let it drop, so I have hardly started up the games in years. It could very well be an excellent time to play the RP.
Gauntlet thrown.

UP was late 2004. RP was late 2007.

Most likely and actually this has already become the case in recent years. I'll still stop in though. I get all my post apocalyptic news here and some useful kickstarter info from the gaming section. Plus I get a good chuckle out of the Order.

And of course I still have to release another RP update, right? 8-)

Well, the UP change log probably lists 1000 or so things, but many of those entries actually account for 2-3 different issues. So yeah, it's maybe close to 1500. And if you say each typo is a bug, then this number gets even larger. I'm not counting typos though. And this number doesn't include fixes from the official patches, btw.

Well, killap, I'd simply like to add my voice to those thanking you for all your work and passion. I only just played your RP for the first time last month and loved it (FO2, CD version was on my old desktop, which is stored away as the dinosaur it is and finally felt the need to get the GoG versions of the old BIS titles on my laptop over the summer).

So... I'm looking forward to this one.

Thanks to Killap for the the work youve done during the years.

Last RP i played was when the first version became available, so i think it might be time to fire the good old F2 up for another playtrough. 8-)

:salute: :drummer:

Congratulations on a herculean effort, well executed, and thanks to you and your team for all the inscrutably vast time you've dedicated to this project. A great thing has been achieved, and your accomplishments will make the world a happier place from now until the Apocalypse. The RP is top-notch material, and above all else I think your dedication to quality results is the very most admirable thing about your work.

Now get out of that dimly lit basement where you've been arduously toiling for most of this century, and go have some fun somewhere! I don't get over to your stretch of the woods very often (even though I'm not actually that far off in the Great Midwest); next time I do, though, complimentary guns, hookers, and booze are on me. :drunk:
