Fallout 2 Restoration Project Problem

First time out of the vault
Windows Vista
Service pack 2
64-bit

New humungous install
FRP (2.1.2b)

Game starts at front of temple of Trials (as usual)

Red writing appears in middle of screen...

YOU HAVE OVERWRITTEN THE
RP.DDRAW.INI FILE!
REVERT BACK BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

The writing doesnt go away... Any ideas? Thanks.

Hmmm... maybe you have overwritten the RP ddraw.ini file, and you should revert it :roll:
 
I responded to a message just like this via email, but for future people searching the forums, here is the solution:

Well, the message claims that the ddraw.ini file was overwritten. This can be either (or both) of the following:

1. You installed a newer version of sfall on top of what the RP comes with.
2. You have F2 installed to C:\Program Files

I'm going to assume #2 in your case since you are running Vista. It seems that installing some games to C:\Program Files under Vista/7 causes problems. Please uninstall everything and then reinstall to a different directory.

The upcoming RP/patch installer will check for this situation.
