The news of a 1.1 patch for Fallout 3 on Xbox 360 and PC reaches us from Ausir and his insidious Vault - at the time of writing there's no announcement on the official site or forum. The PC patch is available from Games for Windows Live or the official site, and stops crashes, fixes quest hiccups and adds in dinosaurs (unconfirmed).

Update: You can get the patch here in US or non-US version, not just on GfWL as previously stated. The patches are also available from NMA.

Update 2: It was also revealed today that Operation: Anchorage will be released on the 27th, as you can read on Shacknews (again blame Ausir - for the news, that is).

There's also a user-made thread in the hardware & software forum.

reading the bug fixes makes me wonder why this game was released at all.

it's not like everyone has experiences these bugs. Fallout 3 is actually the most flawless game I've played lately (bug/performance-wise).

It's now up on the official site as well.
Now the bigger question is if it's worth to install it or not.

Hmm, interesting move to release it on LIVE-only. What about all the peepz who don't have LIVE??

BTW, anyone know, is the patch free?

This is on Xbox, mind you. And, argh, just because some people haven't run into bugs doesn't mean they aren't there. Some people haven't finished the game, that doesn't mean there isn't an ending.

EDIT:

If you're connected to the internet, you can still download updates to games. You just have to sign up for a silver account. Downloadable content is the only stuff that costs money.

It's on the official site now, I guess the wiki just meant that since at the time no download link had been posted, GWfL was the only place you could get it.

Nothing is more expensive than a missed opportunity...

Other, old-gen companies may as well still call it a mere "update" or "patch", but when I think BethSoft, I think "complimentary functionality enhancing solutions", preferably with the word "premium" being mentioned somewhere along the line. It's hardly the usual mixture of slyness and unscrupulousness I've come to expect from a company of their stature and record, and, I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed here today...

Yup, at the time I wrote the article that was the only place you could download it from.

Guys I dunno if this shows for you but when I look at the achievements (pc version) its shows the new DLC achievements. Its weird cause I can't see them with my xbox.

anyways the new achievements are easy. Just complete some more quests.

that's not what I meant, I meant that they could very well have missed these bugs in testing because the game is running flawlessly for a lot of people. games are bugged, even after release. it's pretty much inevitable.

Yes, but there's stupid bugs and really stupid bugs.

There's still the same bug from oblivion, with corpses getting stuck into doors and jerking incontrollably.

What about the flying spaghetti monster bug, or the one that leaves weapons and objects floating in the air after their owner dies? How about the one that makes every object appear at a set distance from the ground every time you enter an area, only to witness things fall off thin air?

What about my favourite, the Dragon Ball Z- style Flying Deathclaw I experienced?

Ah, let's not forget all of those. As F3's predecessor, Oblivion, mods and those bugs are pretty much the only thing that make it worth playing on the long run.

Post the list please, I'll add them to the wiki.
