Fallout 3 Alternative Soundtrack Project Seeks Composers

The Vault Dweller

always looking for water.
A group of composers has begun work on a project to make a Fallout 3 soundtrack that is more true to the spirit of the ealier Fallout titles. In only a week of accepting submissions they've already got three artists on their roster and with the attention they'll hopefully recieve here they can get many more.

If you are a budding musician and think you've made some good tracks why not join up with them? If not you can also go and sample some of the music yourself.

Fallout 3 Alternative Soundtrack Forum.

I'd suggest pointing them to OverClocked Remix and VGMix as there are a lot of talented musicians focused around game music there.

EDIT:
↓↓↓ Oh, I'm gonna register on their forum and point them to them then. ↓↓↓

Yep, we're here. OCRemix and VGMix will get their part of the pr for sure. Don't worry. :)
I just want as many artists competing for the music so that it turns out the best, where they're from is irrelevant. Those are the only VG Music sites that I know of with musicians on them so I thought that I'd throw them out there. Good luck, hope it turns out to have an excellent score! :ok:

Considering that FO3 soundtrack was far away from being really Fallout, a great endeavour, indeed. Good luck to you, guys.

However, I simply prefer original FO music from FO1 and 2, which was kindly prepared here, at NMA, and it fits perfectly into FO3.

I also hated the orchestral oblivion-esque sondtrack of Fo3 and replaced it with Fo1/2 music in the very first day... but you know, it doesnt really fit, cause there are very different and strong memories associated with Mark Morgans` score. And Fo3 is just not Fallout enough.
Thus I looking forward to the new alternative soundtrack for Fo3.

Somehow mysteriously, these original FO soundtracks have brought FO3 closer to the original for me :) maybe I'm too optimistic, though :)

I am a bit skeptical of using F1 and 2 music in Fallout 3. When I hear a particular score, I will think of the Den, Gecko, etc, and it will make me sad.

Began working on an alternative soundtrack myself, two months prior to release. Gave up when I realised that it was not worth my time, trying to improve a game I hate...

Here is how it would have sounded :

Although Mark Morgan wasn't a part of Fallout Tactics music, (Inon Zur was ) I found his to be quite good. Much better than fallout 3's.

MrBumble: We've been talking about this in the our dev forum, I guess you can expect a PM from the mod leader :) Great music.

Public: Nice music, welcome to our forum :)

stefix: Nice find, Emitremmus has some very good tracks :)

MrBumble: very good! dont abandon it
... and did the french voice actors do a better job than the USA ones?

Public: very nice, I especially like the Dark City - captures the atmosphere of Fallout just right. Will put it in my fo3 music folder

Btw are there mods to have location-specific music, themed tracks for each major city, like in originals?

No...French voices kinda sucked...A LOT. However, translation itself was nowhere near as bad as Oblivion's. "War, war never changes" became "La guerre, la guerre ne meurt jamais" though ( War, War never dies... ), and this is unforgiveable...
