Fallout 3 Collectors Edition / Survival Edition

Gandar

First time out of the vault
Well I bought the Collectors Edition. I am wondering though:

Anyone else have in the back of their mind an image of Yogurt (Mel Brooks) from Spaceballs talking about "Merchendizing!" when they saw the Fallout 3 lunchbox? Did anyone have this image SCREAM AT THEIR SOUL when they saw the lunchbox in game?

Did anyone get infinite satisfaction of turning one into an improvised explosive device and blowing up the nearest obnoxious NPC?

Well I think the whole "collectors edition junk" is pretty silly. If you ever saw spaceballs they have lunchboxes as merchandise referenced in their movie.

I bought it because I wanted the bobblehead ;)

As a bit of a CE junkie, I thought the FO3 one was pretty good. We get some real stinkers here in Australia (Ooo ... look! A bigger box and a cardboard map!!), but this was nice.

I still find it hard to go past some of the MMO CEs though. WAR, WoW and AoC were nice packages. It's just a shame that AoC sucked as a game.

I bought it because:

a) I wanted the bobblehead.

b) I liked the lunchbox, and didn't want to have to buy one off of Ebay later.

It's so depressing that I honestly feel the lunchbox was better than the game that came in it. Would have been even more so if it wasn't for the cheap plastic handle.

hehe... I bought the CE because i wanted the Bobblehead, the rest is just bonus. The lunchbox is rather cool, but I can't use it at work since I don't eat sandwiches for lunch.

I got the CE too. The boblehead stands on my desk, and the lunchbox is also on my desk. What i really liked was the artbook.

The artbook was nice. And that reminds me, I put off watching the DVD until after I beat the game, I need to go watch it now and see if anything worthwhile is on it.

DVD sucked pretty bad. It was made "spoiler free" despite how it was supposed to be a "making of," which always sucks.

The "Making of MGS4" DVD that I got with the CE of MGS4 was the best Making Of I've ever seen. It was over 2 hours long. Very detailed, and very cool.

Yeah, I really like the CE for MGS4. 'Course, it helps that I am a Metal Gear junkie, but the value is still there.

Survival Edition? They should release a 'Survive the Survival Edition Edition' for Fallout fans.

A box with Fallout 1 and 2 in it, and a letter from Boyarsky stating that he will get to work on a real sequel after Diablo 3.

I heard the CE/SE ? pip boy clock was broken for some, and tended to drain batteries quickly in use. Some quality problem because the thing was made so cheaply. Any info on this ?

oh and can someone sell me their bobblehead and lunchbox ? :P

Few hours ago i managed to find a thread in Beth forums, complaining about the clocks lack of quality, and the clocks tendency to destroy american batteries. And eventually the screen would dim in to nothingness. Everyone who had posted, had had problems with the clock. poor yanks.
Still, thanks for the amazon link.
