Fallout 3 engine shots?

too bad most people won't see these screenshots, i doubt gameinformer would be losing lots sales from just a few scans...

Sorry bethesda, but people pirate stuff all the time. If all theyre doing is showing pics of the article, which advertises your product to someone who wouldnt have seen it if they hadnt seen it if it hadnt been scanned, then dont bitch and moan, especily when it could generate you extra sales.


Also, whats Gameinformer's stance on images from their magazine being scanned and uploaded, since it's THEIR magizine, their stance on the issue should have muxch more weight than Bethesda's.

Bethesda? Is everything OK with you? Gameinformer paid LOTS of money to get EXCLUSIVE article about oblivion. Get a dictionary and see what EXCLUSIVE means. If you were publishing a magazine and paid lots of money to Bethesda to get EXCLUSIVE article about Oblivion (hoping you sell more copies of your mag) what would you do if the next day Bethesda published screenshots and review for free? Would you say "Oooooh, Bethesda's so community friendly!" or would you sue them? Get real, man!

Looks incredible. Wonder what the system reqs are going to be? I don't know if my desktop can handle it. Maybe have to use laptop.

btw, those screenshots showed an amazing graphics...but then again, does it matter? :(
 
Just remember, the graphics could be the best thing to ever grace a computer screen, it doesn't mean the game will be playable.

Does anyone else remember the slide-show Morrowind could turn into at times?

I think that is perhaps the most amusing thing I've read all week. If you can't tell what's wrong with that, don't worry. Ignorance is bliss, and you must be one happy individual by nature. I know the kids today are used to having little knowledge of law other than what media publishers ram down their throats, but please try from now on. Reposting the entire article would have been a no-go, but excerpts for fair use are...well, fair use. (It is also perhaps the only time you can get the one viable bit of information in an otherwise shitty mag that is limpdicking around with the hype of having something of substance based upon that one item. A lot of the time, gaming mags can't really bitch about copyright unless it is used as a news item, as what they print is mostly garbage anyways and would be publicly available on the internet within days anyways.)

It is also puzzling that someone would use Game Informer for exclusives, on top of it all. Isn't that like an exclusive pre-release of NWN 2 to Mozambique?

Letting NWN2 loose on them might very well be the end of them...
 
One thing about graphics, sure in the end the graphics doesn't make or break the game but we've all become acustomed to better and better graphics over the years.

Now if they made a Fallout 3 that didn't have good graphics, then we would probably bitch about that too or at least notice it and say something about it.

Then again, I would bitch about them doing what Bis did with the infamous infinity engine. Using it over and over again to gain a buck..

So it's a good thing they are using a new engine, but my only beef for now is... I want an engine ala Silent Storm or a crispy clean 2D engine ala Metalheart..

Last I checked excerpts are legal.
In literature, art and music you are allowed to use excerpts of other people's works, although in the case of graphics it helps to give credit and maybe lower the resolution or put a copyright notice inside.

Then again, the US has funky laws and maybe freedom of speech is more restricted there than I thought.

I don't think this would fall under industrial espionage or similar crimes tho.

Anyway. No matter the legality. Beth fucked up by falling for the money offered for a worldwide exclusive preview. More proof "community support" is a mere marketing phrase.
Beth is no less of a marketing whore than Interplay became. By gamers for gamers, redux.
