Fallout 3 FAQ

It's too early to give Fallout 3 the official Voodoo Extreme seal of approval, but don't be shocked if the game ends up being the best of the series. I know it's disconcerting to some that the game is going to be set in the first-person perspective, but that's just progress folks. Other than the camera angle changing, the core game play mechanics and spirit of Fallout remains.

Despite the fact that moving from iso to fpp isn't a progress but a change (a drastic and stupid in this case) what is this core game play he's talking about? Shooting mutants?
Because I don't see turn-based anywhere...
Or maybe he means targeting?
Well, I don't see freedom or eye shots anywhere, too.

Progress would be improving tactical combat, adding stances, removing AC bonus from armor, adding some more rules, higher graphics resolution and more colours.
Progress would be more detailed surroundings, better writing, better NPCs.

What Bethesda is doing isn't a progress. What Bethesda is doing is a treachery.

Also, I know this is off-topic, but will NMA be hosting mods etc for FO3 even if they don't support the game? From what I've seen I have no intention of buying the game, but I'm curious as to whether NMA will be boycotting it.

It would be pretty weird for a Fallout fansite to completely blacklist certain games of the series. We've always supported the Modding scene, including Tactics modding. For as far as I can see we'll be continuing that with Fallout 3, especially projects that go for 'modding out the suck'.

Does it mean tolerating Fallout 3 fanboys?

Is Downtown D.C. the same as Washington D.C./Capital Wasteland or only the very central hub of it? I'm reading it as the latter, I guess.

PS: have to say it, these are some stupid, shitty names.

Looks like Downtown DC is not Capital Wasteland. Downtown DC are the urban surroundings of the ruins of Capitol, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Memorial etc, while Capital Wasteland are the desolate areas around that.

Edit: BTW, it's Tenpenny Tower, not Ten Penny Tower (the spelling varies among the previews, so I asked kathode).

Well, I already did... And I knew that information as I watch all of it since it started. And yes. Beth is making a pretty casual big-bang shoot'em all game for kids that know that Fallout is cool. However - don't know why
