It seems that although contrary claims have been made, Fallout 3 was present at the E3, according to this bit at IGN. Observe the Fallout poster that could have been found there:

Could this be a dawning of a wonderful new era?

Thanks go to our readers Dagon, Dogma972, Greatatlantic, Hudacek, Jordan, Moorkh, mystoryman, Starcubeman, vertigo and also one anonymous contributor for burying us under a flurry of submissions, nice work, guys!

so, now, ermm... are they going to have anything notewothy and newsworthy? In otherwords, what are the chances of there being some video or pre alpha demo or *anything* of that nature?.

Sweet mother of god... first the "not morrowind with guns", now THIS? I'm sure that I'm going to get my hopes crushed, but I am so high on the news the last few days!

According to what I've read so far on the development of F3, I believe it's very unlikely that Bethesda is going to release anything but maybe some concept art at present.

When asked about when screenshots may surface, MrSmileyFaceDude replied the following in this thread:
Not for a very, very, VERY long time.

As this was posted in March, I think we'll have to wait a little longer for demos and such.

edit: rewrote last part of post

Actually we have a person at E3, *if* they do show something then we'll hear about it and see it :D

Well, I don't expect they had shown something other than a sign that they have the franchise, but nevertheless, Fallout 3 was there in spirit ;)

Ba-*doing*. That was unexpected.

It's a bit unusual too, as BethSoft always swears they do not showcase games if they have nothing to show and they did not announce it before E3

Change of policy, guys? Some BethBloke comment!

Nice way of taunting us, Beth. Don't be surprised, though, when a particularly rabid band of Fallout fans intercepts MrSmileyFaceDude on his way to work and kidnaps him. Once we have in our grasp, we will find out everything.

Fallout 3 franchise: $1.175 million
Poster: $10
Making the suckers at IGN actually believe that Fallout 3 is just around the corner: Priceless

Actually, it only cost me just over £4 to make.

I'm skeptical about this. As ericjones stated, it's pretty cheap to make a poster, and take a picture of it on a black background. Also, it costs nothing to take a picture already in a poster and photoshop a fallout shelter/beth logos on it, to make the IGN dudes believe it's authentic.

I'm curious about who IGN trusted enough to believe the picture is authentic, and post a newsbit about it. Guess we'll have to wait for someone from Bethsesda to comment on it.

And even then, they might deny the existance of said poster, supposing it existed, with the same explanations I gave above. Dun dun dun.

MYSTARY!

IGN has its own people in E3, of course. And MrSmileyFaceDude pretty much confirmed it's there on RPGCodex.

It's real

Not news-certified yet, so we're not posting it, but hell if I'll not spread the word somewhat

Hey, it's quite easy to get those suckers to believe anything. After all, they knobgobbled up F:POS and the hype around it like a cheap crack whore.

It is good to see that "Special Ed" Lewis corrected the rampant idiocy in his previews. No, wait, they can't even bother to fix it, though I notice that the reviews were a little different with rewriting in BIS again for no apparent reason. Mmmm, gotta love press kits!

MrSmileyFaceDude: Next time, see if you can get them to perform circus sideshow tricks in exchange for condoms with "Fallout" stamped onto them with a cheap ink stamp. :D
