Fallout 3 system specs

I wont propably be able to play any current games with my laptop which has a damn geforce 7000m...

Hell i was suprised that i could even play tiberium wars smoothly.(with relatively low settings)

So no f3 for me, at least for the PC

But i guess the good thing is that it can be found from the bargains when i get a gaming pc. I thought about getting it for ps3 if found for reasonable price but lets see how the game even turns out to be.

I've got a Geforce 9800 GTX, Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.00Ghz, as well as 4 gigs of RAM. There's some other stuff, pretty good stuff, too tired to list it all. It cost me about 1600$.

My problem is my Graphics card for sure.

got a new system last summer.

Q6600
2gigs of ram
500gb hd

but I didn't have the cash to invest in a new Gpu.

So im still using my long in the tooth 7800gtx (first version so it's only 256mb)

Trying to decide what to upgrade to (Mid range looking for maximum dollar for performance)

How can I tell if my computer can handle Fallout 3? Here are some system specs I found about my computer...

Pentium{R} 4CPU 3.20GHz
3.19GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM

Microsoft XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3

NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS

This was all the systtem info I could dig up about my computer. My comp is also around 4-5 years old. I am able to play Half Life 2 and it's expansion packs easily at max settings, but STALKER Clear Sky, however, I can't run worth a damn. That game just stutters and crashes constantly. But that could well just be due to the fact that Clear Sky is a crappy, buggy game though. I wal also able to run the game F.E.A.R. well with settings almost maxed out.

What do you guys think?? Do you think my comp can handle Fallout 3?

Oh, and one other question.... How can you tell what version of DirectX you have?? And also, what's a good web site to get the latest version of DirectX?

Your system may be able to run it on low graphic settings. The CPU and RAM looks ok enough, but that video card will be your bottleneck, IMO. The 7600, while a good card for the time (but VERY affordable for what it can do for an entry level system), it probably won't handle new games without turning down details quite a bit.

as for direct X:

Go to Start -> Run -> type: dxdiag -> Hit OK -> go thru the tabs until you get your DX version.

More than likely you are running 9.0c - but you should check.
