So, it's been a while since it was released, 4 weeks to be precise.
    These are the scores:

Seems like it is doing fine. DLC's usually have a lower score so its 6.5 score isn't really 'that' low IMO.

I am honestly surprised by that, I mean the DLC is better than the base game, but that doesn't mean much in this case. 86% positive, that is quite a bit.

Then again Farcryout 4 still sits at 80% positive on steam, so it makes sense.

People who liked the base game will probably like this medioocre DLC, because they liked the base and this is much better.

I am disappointed though, I hoped it would be much, much lower.

To put that in perspective, Goat Simulator has an 88% approval rating on steam reviews.

It's not that either one is a great game, it's just that they review well among the people who met the prerequisite lack of good taste required to purchase the product in the first place.

I'd assume the other 12-15% were the people who purchased them out of curiosity.

Well, 20% out of ~65k people who reviewed the game is quite a huge number (~13k people redeem the game as not-recommended) and as you browse through them the most recent and most helpful ones are negatives, so it shows. Heck, the positive ones which are the most helpful are not even helpful at all (meme reviews) and there's other which, wanted to point out the game is disappointing but have to 'apologize' by saying it's still a good game :yuck:

As I said on the Can DlC save this one? thread, Far Harbour looks shit, its basically a clone of the Fallout 3 Point Lookout, but they fucked up the cloning process and managed to make it worse.

Which makes sense in my opinion. The people that bought the DLC, most probably also liked Fallout 4. Why would you buy the DLC if you already dislike the base game? So I guess it's not a surprise that it gets average scores.

You are entirely correct. I bought goat simulator, and gave it a thumbs up review because it pleased me immensely in exactly the ways I expected. :>

Goat Simulator did a very good job of setting expectations. F4... maybe not so much.

Meta scores look about right. From what people are saying, FH is OK.

Around the 6:00 mark, the interviewer asked about how everybody has their own opinion for Fallout and the example he gave was that in Fallout 3, people loved Fallout 3 but didn't like the shooting, and then Fallout 4 came out and people said it had really solid shooting, but was more of a shooter and less an RPG.

I'm glad he at least admits to his mistakes. That takes some pretty serious balls, so I respect Todd Howard for coming clean on that.

You think? I believe defending the shooting mechanics of F3 actually requires more balls ... I mean ... yeah, after 5 years after the game they kinda, admit that it was not so well ...

For me, the DLC was better than the vanilla game, if only because I got a fairly ok amount of choice for the outcome. The fog can make the frame rate atrocious on consoles though, which is ridiculous when you consider how games like Phantom Pain could handle obtrusive weather.

Overall I'd give Far Harbor a 6.5. I liked Acadia's settlers for the most part, the Mariner in Far Harbor was pretty cool (would rather she was the companion but w/e) and the lever action was a welcome return. The DiMA memory mini game thing was absolute bollocks though and should never have been there.
