This is a topic where you can post a little bit of everything that relates to Fallout 4 instead of creating new threads.

-------

I'll start by posting this tweet I just saw in regards to Fallout 4 being 6 years old now:

It's someone called @LadyDevann who works as a community manager at Bethesda and she expresses her love for Fallout 4.

@LadyDevann said:
This game changed my life. Seeing the trailers for it made me play all the others for the first time leading up to its release. It, along with the Elder Scrolls, helped me find my passion in life. I knew I had to work at Bethesda. Cheers to many more years!

Can you believe that? I think it's very revealing and says a lot about Bethesdas audience.

I don't see it.

Someone who's into the Bethesda formula plays the rest of the games and would love to work at the place that feeds into their entertainment value.
That's what it tells me, which isn't really a negative or a positive. It just is.

What do you extrapolate from her tweet exactly?

Personally I hated the trailer for Fallout 4 but it's interesting to see that it managed to capture a person who had no prior knowledge of either Fallout or Elder Scrolls and that that person ended up loving it. It's an interesting example of their audience.

Again I really don't see how it is interesting at all.
The mindless casual shooter appeals to casual gamers who just wanna gun shit and explore around.
Just seems like a given to me.

-Bethesda Community Manager loves Fallout 4

No shit sherlock, why is this worth posting?

I dunno, it might have been interesting to me in the moment I saw it.

She went from never even having heard of Bethesda or their games to seeing the trailer for Fallout 4 and then to becoming a rabid fan and then ending up working at Bethesda. It's something about that pipeline...

I remember watching the original Fallout 4 reveal trailer. I remember that the plot regarding a voice acted, pre-war protagonist had been leaked along with a CGI rendering of his face long beforehand. However after the fake Survivor2299 fiasco nobody believed it was legit.

I remember when the trailer rolled and I notice there was a guy in the trailer that REALLY looked like the leaked CGI render.

Then he spoke at the end, and my heart sank.

Never actually followed the pre-release of this game because i had no expectations or hope for this. I knew Bethesda wouldn't learn anything from New Vegas and Bethesda games have sucked since Oblivion, so i literally didn't expected anything with quality. And what do you know, Fallout 4 ended being up trash.

Yup. Another funny thing is whsame guy also got a scoop that Fallout 76 was going to be online and focused on settlement building, which was validated by a 4chan post from like a year earlier saying the next fallout game would be called Fallout 76 and would be a RUST emulator.

Everybody on r/fallout proceeded to libel the guy, calling him a click hungry liar who was making up bullshit. AIIf I recall he was literally getting death threats over it. This despite the fact that he was right about Fallout 4 (and people accused him of similar stuff at the time), and the fact that it had already been independently verified a year prior. And then there were all of the advertisements around E3 that were clearly alluding to multiplayer. People continued to cope literally up until the very moment Todd said that it was online.

In 2036 that guy is going to leak that Fallout 5 is an online multiplayer shooter like COD with no story, and some Bethesda fan will shoot him in the head for being a liar, and Todd will reveal it's true a day later and they will all fall in line.

Not all will fall in line. Every time Bethesda releases a game there is a new wave of former fans that come to the realization that Bethesda just doesn’t make games like they used to. There will be another Great Purge, and those old fans will be replaced with loyalists who’s first Bethesda game was fallout 5. I often wonder how long this cycle will continue
