Fallout 4 made me hate video games.

Fallout 4 made me hate the STATE of games, not so much games in general.

How can such garbage, stuff which would be considered the 'ET of modern games', be not only successful, but hugely so?

The ET game was different. It was rushed with only a few weeks of development for christmas and the company made more copies of the game than actual consoles (which was one of the reasons of the 80´s video game crash). Fallout 4 on the other hand, had enough development and good marketing but bad writing and executive board decision.

Was more talking about game quality, and not so much the background stuff.

I highly recommend finishing the Witcher 3 and the expansions if you have them. Its probably one of the best gaming experiences in recent years.

I will defiantly finish it, its just I've got a ton of monster contracts and exploring to do ! I will defiantly take my game with though I'm not rushing it

Cause it is made by Bethesda?
Who got tons of pinkies for Skyrim even though I think it is a far worse game than Fallout 4 is.
So they were riding on "we're Bethesda, you know what you'll get".
Alas, that was a half-lie.

And it is hardly the ET of modern games.

Fallout 4 has a lot of issues, especially when it comes to combat balance and writing and the usual Bethesda bugginess but it is nowhere near the level of ET.

As a game on its own merits it is a pretty fun mindless shooter.
As a sequel? It's on par with FBOS.

But in neither case is it even close to what ET was.
