Fallout 4 mods not coming to PS4

Is windmill in the background from mods or vanilla game?
And PS4 version can only have esp-only mods...well, at least better than nothing I guess.

Render distance is greater on PC, The windmill is there on the console versions but won't render until it's right in front of the player.

Considering the cost, and that the only mods they'll get for Skyrim are weapon and armor tweeks and a really lame house, I would say the PS3 version is worth $60.00 5 years ago. Gimped tweak mods on a 5 year old game for $60.00, same price as XBox isn't better than nothing imo. PS gets hosed again. :(

I am more surprised by the fact that the mods are coming to PS4. I mean, what is the point?

Most modders don't want to deal with crap like mod theft, whiny children, terrible restrictions and bethesda.aids.

That and good mods require script extending and such to run.

Unfortunately 90% of their current fanbase will buy everything bethesda shits out. There are already plenty of discussions how sony is evil and bethesda is the good guy.

Seriously, when will those people learn?!

GUYS!

I'm surprised no one has talked about the fact that no new textures, meshes or materials are allowed. No new scripts either.

This means: no new weapons, armors, quests, enemies etc.

You answered your own question.

Mods can never make a bad game good. Modders managed to do things like add multiplayer to FO:NV. Hopefully when OpenMW-CS get finished, modders would stop supporting Bethesda and start competing with Bethesda. Bethesda pissed off enough modders that they might not have any ideas to steal for their next game.

So the mods are coming to PS4 now. At this point I'm not sure who gives a fuck.

The same people who bought Skyrim for the PS3. To me, playing a Bethesda title in a console is like watching Sonic X in the GBA.
  1. Why on that device?
  2. Why at all?
And like DOOM in the SNES lol

Maybe I should actually read the threads I'm posting in.
;)
It isn't a question of "will under 100 ps4 mods be received badly?", more so, "How will we measure the reception?" PS4 users for the most part wont understand what "No external assets" means until it's too late. I imagine it will be the first platform vs Gamedev war. Bethesda should have said no and this will not turn out well for them. Simply because they are not being sold the some product and the price will be the same.

New video of a guy that clearly doesn't understand assets. If he was going for the incorrect or misleading approach, he is successful. None of the mods he mentioned will work on PS4, except the weapon and armor "rebalance"

I'd guess they might start selling "asset DLCs" for FO4 & Skyrim SE to let modders make PS4 mods. All Bethesda need is making models, textures and maybe some new animations or sounds for modders to use. They can save a lot of work from making new maps or writing dialogues/scripts for new quests (even the lamest radiant quests still require some scripting) :P

That just reminds me some Bethesda apologists on other forums keep saying something like "Paid mod is the future trend. It would be a source of steady profit for Bethesda for a decade! Just like Grand Theft Auto V!" I bet those dumbf***s will really pay for those assets DLCs, given that they're saying "oh, good thing is we don't need to worry about compatibility issues or missing sounds" now.

Hey, that was hell of a port, and it actually closer to original PC version in terms of levels' geometry. And some music tracks even suprasses the original. Compared to shoddy Genesis' 'FPSs', Doom is really a standout.

That I agree. But the "draw distance" was ridiculous, you couldn't see enemies and environment until it was too late, not as far as you could in PC, iirc.

As to who would want mods: people who enjoy the game for what it is but dislikes Bethesdas typical lack of balance. Esp mods would still offer that balance.

Are ESP mods enough for bug fixes or is FO4 that broken?
