I remember, that in one video about Skyrim he said, that from time to time he turns the game on and for a brief moment thinks "Wow... This is great, why don't I play this game more often?" until after a while he remembers how the oversimplified aspects make everything look the same and shallow.

I can understand, that Bethesda changed Fallout from an isometric tactic-RPG, to bascially a big budget roguelike, but for Christ's sake... Why can't they stick to the genre they've chosen... If you're going to dumb down the dialogue system, then why even bother with pretending, that you're making a good story. Because giving all that backstory just to put you in an AWESOME situation where you're 200 years old and has to chase your infant son, that's probably now older than you (and who knows... since it's Bethesda's approach to Fallout he may even turn out to be an alien) just isn't good writing...
