Fallout 4's Announcement Trailer.(THE BIG REVEAL!)

10 years ago from today, Fallout 4's Announcement Trailer was officially released!

Now, even though I personally have a COMPLETELY different opinion of the game today,(a mostly negative one) I can't help but feel nostalgic whenever I look back at those days. The hype leading up to Fallout 4's eventual release! Keep in my mind, all the years leading up to this announcement trailer, was quite the ride to experience first hand...



In 2012, we heard the rumors & murmurs of the possibility of a Fallout 4 being made and released in the next couple of years. Plus the fact that the Bethesda Game Studios Team was spotted scouting the Boston, Massachusetts area, adding more fuel to the fires of speculation.


Then in the following year, we got the infamous December 2013 Script Leak that was covered by Kotaku! Basically a draft of the opening narration, including a quick summary of certain roles for some of the characters such as Preston Garvey, Travis Miles, ETC.


And then in 2014, complete RADIO SILENCE! After that bombshell of a leak back in December 2013, we actually didn't hear a single thing of about Fallout 4 after that, ZERO! Well, there was this one thing that a lot of people were excited for called TheSurvivor2299 countdown, but that actually happened in 2013 & was then revealed to be an elaborate hoax.


Anyways, so when on June 2nd, 2015 that reveal trailer was dropped, you can imagine the excitement that me & plenty of others had after following all the rumors & speculation surrounding this game for the past three years!


So yeah overall, I just wanted to share this as a sort of throwback to this time, & just me giving a long a$$ ramble as I reminiscence.


Also I do want to ask, did anybody have a similar journey/experience leading up to this release of the reveal trailer? OR did you just simply find out about Fallout 4's reveal on the day of the announcement?

I remember the countdown so well! I was watching it on my mum's iPad in the living room and was thoroughly disappointed.

Regarding the reveal of Fallout 4, I was sceptical, seeing that they removed skill points and replaced them with perks; I'd say my intuition was correct in hindsight. But I was excited nonetheless. I got the game for Christmas, and my sister even drew me Vault Boy on a canvas.

I have never played FO4 or F76.

FO3 was bad enough, and FO4 looked like it was (in every way) worse off the mark than FO3. FO3 ruined the franchise for me —thanks Todd.
(I've a similar opinion of FO:NV btw. )
