Fallout: California [OCC]

Dunno if i can muster the time& interest for this but here goes:

Organization Name: The Underdogs
Leader: Hlaine "Mad" Larkin
Founding Year: 2185
Organizational "Genre": Gang
Organization Location: Outskirts of NCR.
Organization Goal: None really. To make a living.
History: Larkin was a wanderer with a dream. To have his very own distillery and a bar.
But he couldn't handle the project himself, and the organization called "The Underdogs" emerged
to clean the dust from the throats of weary travellers. And get them dead drunk, o'course.
Even when Larkin and his workers are all notorious boozehounds, personal drug-use is merely tolerated,
and jet-dealers and other scum are shot on sight.
The gang trades most of its food and power from NCR, and pay back with cash earned from the popular bar
and selling the premium distillery products across the whole region.

Equipment/Employees:

Employees: 10 Trained Civilians (5000$) 3 cooks (1080$),Experienced soldier (900$) 2 trained soldiers (1300$)

Buildings total=6500$
Remaining funds: 235$ (wooo!)

OK... I just wanted to do a bar The soldiers do not wear armour, but who does in a classy bar&restaurant :)
I cut the funds a bit low, but i wanted the whole thing to build around the bar building.
Assume that the shady business goes on in the basement and the executive floors :p

If I join, I will start a Gunrunner/Smuggler group... Kind of like what we do back home in the Caribbean...

Organization Name: The Desert Sharks
Leader: Sharky Cardias
Founding Year: 2185
Organizational Genre: Gunrunner/Merc band hyrbid
Organization Location: Out skirts of the LA Bone Yard

Organization Goal: The Organizations goal is to supply arms, medical and information and even muscle to those who are in need or who can afford it. Sharky feels that the balance is enough to bring some order to the wasteland, as well as be a listening ear for the Brotherhood of Steel, NCR and even for Vaul City.

The Organization does not deal with the Mordino Family on the account they deal in highly addictive drugs. Also certain crime cartels are black listed and Sharky will make it clear if a gentle warning can't be heeded force will be applied.

Also to unit other small bands and become a sort of collective whole. Mutants and ghouls are even welcomed as equal members on his team.

History: Sharky had a dream and some money, and having been a part time gunrunner, he used his know how and resources to found the Organization which is well known for being fear and honest as far as smugglers and gunrunners go. Even to the extent where he has earned the trust of some in NCR as well as in his Native San Francisco, whom he swaps info for tech.

Running across scavs and the disenfranchised, Sharky made recruits out of them givig them purpose and meaning.

The Organization was founded by a wily and eccentric figure who sees he's doing his part to bring the wasteland together.

Syphon, as you are the one running this role play, let me know if you need me to do any moderating.

Syphon, i was thinking why don't we have welsh run the economic part and let us know if our strategy actions were successful, aka my trying to make a trade agreement with the Brotherhood. That way we have a neutral gm. and we can keep up the role play part.

@Welsh would you want to moderate the eco part? Let us know when our economics form is due and the results of our actions?

Also Syphon i have been expanding on the buildings, resource gathering, and price lists. If you want to add them let me know, as what was included is not enough in my opinion.

Nope. No way. Thanks for the consideration, no.

While I agree that this is important and hope you can come up with some self-regulating or a neutral third party arbiter, I will not play this role.

No offense, but I am busy enough. As is, I have barely enough time to moderate in NMA and look over the threads I have started here.

Sorry, but if you want to run a thread you have to take care of management issues as well. My offer was merely for an occassional intervention to lock, delete, or chastise- basically play the necessary role of board cop. What you seem to suggest is much more intervention than I can afford.

@Welsh would you want to moderate the eco part? Let us know when our economics form is due and the results of our actions?

Again, no, no way, forget it, but thanks for thinking of me.

The great pain of administering a role play is the choice of hats to wear. Without the admin there is no role play, but the admin doesn't get to enjoy the fruits of his labors because he (or she) doesn't get to play.

I think you either have to come up with a system that each of you trusts and hold each other to an "honor" system or find a way that an outside party can regulate with the minimum in time constraints.

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but I am not that person even if you have my moral support and best wishes. It's just a matter of time and I don't have enough

Syphon cannot add it to the site, as he does not control the site, Murdock does (just as FoCA is Murdock's brainchild, not Syphon's).

Also, Murdock is working the kinks out of the system before he starts adding new ones, which is why there's so few right now. If you have new ideas and want them added, I suggest you get in touch with him. I've been bouncing ideas off him for a while now, and after he has smoothed some things out, he's going to add a bunch of new weapons, military bases, personnel, and misc equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if other players have been giving him ideas, too (think I remember someone with some ideas for farming).

Um, I think we should ditch the whole finances and shit. It'd be too hard to keep up with it. Whatcha think?

@Syphon that is all right by me, but if you want i can run the strategy part as that is what i thought it was going to be. Also i have a more detailed set of rules than what Murdock has come up with, so i want to make a suggestion, we dump the uncompleted rules Murdock was working on and use the ones i have. Pm me with what you think.

@Redfez i understand that Murdock came up with the basic framework, but it needs a hell of a lot of work before it is a complete set of rules, and i was just offering to help work out the kinks. But if you gents think you do not need my help that is fine by me.

Thor, by all means you're welcome to, and I know Murdock would welcome the help. However, you'd have to go through him if you want to add to it, Syphon is making his own version here and I'd be surprised if he shared anything with Murdock (aside from "I'm bored, when will you start the game?" which he brought up more than once before starting up here).

ehehe, you're calling him lazy when he went to all the work of making it and all you do is start it up here without giving him any credit (or even asking him for permission to start it up at all), just becuase you were impatient and we got tired of your whining at v0.

If he's so lazy, why don't you come up with something as original as what you basically stole from him.
