Fallout Civilization 3 mod

Wow, units look really nice and detailed. These are definitely the best looking units I've seen in a Civ mod, though maybe they are a little too huge. I mean, that Hummer's wheel is as big as Mariposa base! Which brings us to another issue - what's a vehicle from the '80s doing in a game inspired by the '50s? Another thing that bothers me are the bots. The bots! Their presence implies Tactics have something to do with the Fallout Universe, which is a perposterous notion.

Becuase the bots are nice and easy to export from FOT along with all the other FOT units :)

Though since the FOT units are exported as GIFs and you can convert the FO2 units into GIFs easily enough, then it should be a major job to have the Fallout 2 units included.

@ Thorgrimm, will any of the units from FO2 be included? If you want I can whip up a simple batch file that will export all the FRMs into GIFs (save having to do them one at a time)
 
I think Thorgrimm said somewhere that he can only use graphics of units from FOT in the mod since they are the only one that have 8 directional profiles rather than the 6 used in FO1 and FO2
 
It might be all right to use the same graphics for facing, say, south and south-west. If we've endured it in Fo for so long, it could be worth it to add a few more unit types.
 
Yes, I forgot about the 8 vs 6 orientations :roll:

but yes it would be possible to just jerry rig it to use a south east facing for a south orientation. It would look at good but it would be ok I guese.

I remeber telling him that Crusader No Remorse/Regret has eight facings :) (worth try I suspose) as some of those look pretty cool and would suit FO Civ

There are also a few good mutant/giant bugs in Diablo 2 that would look good (A giant sand bettle etc...)

Whoever made that has my respect! I think I actually have a reason to re-install Civ 3 now. I mean as great a game it was it took way to long to play and was way too hard to win. However...Im gonna love the Wasteland setting.

Wild Qwerty if you can do that then i will try my damnedest to get them into the mod. As i would prefer to use the units from the RPG's, ESPECIALLY the bots and muties. Damn i would love to have the robobrain and all the others.

Per, absolutely, as my first and best choice was for the RPG's for the gfx, but not being an artist i had to use what was available.

just as long as you dont mind that the critters will only face 6 directions :)

Hmmm, I might need to get this game.

A- Is it any good on its own ?

B- whats it about

C- what FO stuff has been added other than art ?
 
Wild Qwerty, nah i don't mind. Actually looking forward to adding them. The 2 missing dirs will just have the closest one substituted. It will only really look funny when moving as the unit will move that way but the anim will be the substituted ones.

Its worth finding out I think.

Anyways, I am definately looking forward to this mod. It wont need the expansion or anything will it?
