i'm at the middle of fallout2 at the i don't know what time(more than 10).

planning ahead for the big dry seasons-hence, no something related to a title and people getting sacked..hmm, can't remember what it was, anyway-
besides feeling the will to kill everything i can(again, i don't know why) i must have some consulation as no more stimulating stimpacks are availabe soon...so arcanum...its huge, diverse, full of people to talk, somewhat apocalyptic, out of time and zone, but i don't know any other game like those( besides gothics but they're too mch fantasy based).

You a fan of Gertrude Stein, Rikus? Your post is like... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay distorted, man. Cubist gossip. Weird wordplay.

You mean to say that you don't know much games that have the same 'atmosphere' as Fallout and Arcanum? Me neither. I'm playing Jagged Alliance 2 from time to time and that comes pretty close to Fallout (graphics, talking heads, turnbased combat, raiders...) and Fallout Tactics (strategy, squad turnbased, lotsa weaponry). JA2 is actually better than Fallout Tactics, me thinks, but I keep hearing that X-Com is even better, although I've had no luck so far at finding a copy of that classic.

I've tried stuff like Baldur's Gate and BG2, but they just don't appeal to me very much. I hate the combat system.

Another great game in the Fallout tradition would be Planescape: Torment. I only played a demo, but I'm gonna buy it as soon as I find a copy of it, 'cause it's really good.

Keep looking for X-com, It'll definitely turn out to be worth your time. As for Tactics, no comment, I still can't find a copy. But Jagged Alliance was one of my personal favorite games. Anybody know of a game in this vein that's worthwhile to play online, because all I play right now is Gunbound and C&C Tiberian Sun. One is too kiddy, and the other is really old.

Well, Fallout Tactics comes really really close to Jagged Alliance 2 (don't know about Jagged Alliance), but multiplayer sucks bigtime. I heard a lot of good things about this here, though:

It's made by the Gollop Brothers who made X-Com. Haven't played it myself, though, but I plan to do so very soon.

Hell yeah! Laser Squad Nemesis looks like it has the same interface as X-Com. Thanks for the link. Maybe I'll see you there.

    lol?
depression, a disease or an infection that hits most people, affecting thier daily lives and turning then into the shape of the grey land of mordor.
trying to play bebop phrases over cetain chord changes won't do me any good either, so i waited for fallout3 in vain-and who was there to save me?

X-Com can be gotten through Cd-Rom Access. The Underdogs has a link here to it. Clicking on that probably sends a few cents TUD's way, so do your duty, soldier. *Salute* :)

Is Fallout Tactics any good? I've been tempted to get it but I heard a bit of grumbling from a few fallout fans I know, so I held off until it got cheaper than $50 and now it's hard to find. =/ The trailer on Interplay's website for it looks really cool. =)

Uhhh that link sends you to X-com apocalypse. Which is not the game I was referring to. The original X-com Ufo defense (or enemy unknown as it's sometimes called) is a far superior game. Apocalypse was good, but the realtime gameplay just wasn't quite right.

I'm playing through it now and thoroughly enjoying it. There are a few annoying problems, like enemies firing on you even though they have 0-1% chance to hit you, but it's a fun game. Just bear in mind that it was never meant to be Fallout 3.

I'm playing it more for the gameplay than the story. I lost interest in the story after I succeeded at an assualt on the mutant base in the first super mutant mission, only to discover that what I thought would be there wasn't (I won't spoil anything, but if you've played, you probably know what I'm talking about). Those mutants with the M2s or whatnot were ANNOYING to get past.

    Stand-duck, stand-duck, stand-spalt....Ah shit, reload time.
