Ausir describes the situation like so:
Between June 19 and 21, in a deserted Soviet military base near Leningrad, a LARP (live-action roleplay) game Fallout 2009: Ничто человеческое (Fallout 2009: Nothing Personal) based on the Fallout series took place. It was organized by the "Albion" group and ca. 300 fans took part in it, after months of preparations.

The LARP was set in 2257, 180 years after the Great War, between Fallout 2 and Fallout 3. The players dressed up as Brotherhood of Steel paladins and scribes, raiders, ghouls, super mutants and New California Rangers, while the game masters reconstructed Sierra Army Depot, Mariposa and New Reno, with bars, casinos and other institutions.
Never mind the casinos, look at the lupins! You could choke a cat to death on those lupins.

Fallout LARP. How does a gay thing like a LARP end up being Fallout-themed?

Mhh... good question. I have the feeling that the third incarnation of the series is somewhat responsible for this.

Abstaing of further comments, all i'm going to say is that russki gals are certainly fair.

Nonsense. These are Russians, doing a clearly classic Fallout-themed LARP, and not a nu-Fallout 3 LARP.

Russians have probably always been amongst the more passionate Fallout-fans. And hell, if you're going to do a post-apocalyptic LARP anywhere, you have to go form East Bloc.

Some of those costumes and props are pretty good. I like the hand in the jar!

I can just imagine some poor schmuck wandering into that lot and thinking..."WTF???"

Hey if they can do Call of Cthulhu Live Action Role Play, why not Fallout Live Action?

Lots of Fallout love. The ghoul is pretty good too.

Geeky? Oh yes. But hey, those folks were having fun, so why not.

Never really got LARPing but looks like they put a good bit of work into it and they had fun. At least this isn't the e-LARPing some people do in FO3, hah.

You're on a forum dedicated to a 10+ year-old CRPG. The way you feel about these LARPers is the way everyone else feels about you.

Don't hate, appreciate.

I see crappy cardboard power armor and non-canon guns. And ONE purple robe. It looks like Halloween gone wrong. I am not amused.

Being a Fan of Fallout is like being a fan of Pink Floyd. You know deep in your heart, that nothing as awesome will ever be produced.

If you look carefully, there is one screenshot with Fallout 3 loading screen. These kids are definitely suckled by Fo3.

Nothing can replace real post-apocalyptic faloutish atmosphere of California/Nevada wasteland. Those poor tin built houses over there all looks like from after Great War times as we know from our Fallout.
