Fallout Movie/Machinima/Shortfilm

Drakortha

First time out of the vault
If Fallout was made into one of these types of media, what kind of story would you like to see?

I'm thinking there are a few ways it could be done. It could simply be a movie that tells an already existing story (like Vault 3 in the Mojave for instance). Or perhaps it could be an entirely new story which could possibly add some new lore into the Fallout universe. What are your thoughts?

First off, hi Drakortha! Long time subscriber, so you know.

I liked the fallout fan film, Nuka break, and the following miniseries that seemed to have died off.

Plus you should also check out the page on the fallout film that was to be made by interplay, there's a part about a bethesda movie. There isn't much, but they had bought the rights to a television series. I think that that would be the way to go, instead of a movie.

A tv series would be better to develop the world, I think. I wouldn't want to see it in any location from within the games, because I think that would lessen the entertainment value of either a show, or the games. You can choose to solve a problem in different ways in the games, whereas a production could only really show one alternative.

Hey mate. Sorry for the late reply, I had actually forgotten I posted this and didn't check back for a while

I've been having ideas for a new Fallout Machinima with a new setting. It wouldn't be based anywhere that the games took place. But of course that all depends on how interested people are in seeing it. I'd be lying if I said I had the same ambition for Machinima now as I did a few years ago.

The DC Chronicles was a pretty good machinima. Wait a minute you are Drakortha......
Anyway I think something good could be made with the Gulf Commonwealth. Somewhere that hasn't been in any games is what I would like to see. Trust me people are interested in seeing things you make.

Hey guys.

So I've been toying with ideas a bit more and I have a basic idea on what I'd like the show to be about.

First off, I would like to use New Vegas this time because of the tone of the world that reminds me more of the original games. Also, I'd like to base my story on the west coast this time around so certain areas of New Vegas would be perfect to represent more of the west (I'll just need to keep the strip out of frame ;P)

What do you guys think of a story centered around a BoS squad? I'd like all the characters be fleshed out pretty well with their own personality quirks, strengths and weaknesses. I suppose you could call the show a homage to Fallout Tactics except for more meat in the story.

As for the exact location the show, and the year.. none of that is clear at this point, but I'm hoping to cover the daily life of a brotherhood soldier. Perhaps with different episodes the squad would be assigned to different tasks like protecting a village from raiders to gain recruits (I loved that in tactics) and possibly battling super mutants. Later in the story a big threat might emerge which will become the main plot in the story.

I'd really like to hear any ideas NMA might have and of course I'm open to criticism on what I have so far.

Agreed. There is simply to much in the universe to be in a single film. A massive Television Series would be amazing.

Honestly, there is to much focus the Brotherhood. It's not like their Space Marines from Warhammer where they are basically the main faction, but everyone perceives them as they are. Especially Bethesda and Bethesda fanboys. I'd set it around a Mercenary or a Bounty Hunter.

To me the Brotherhood are one of the more interesting factions. I really enjoyed playing through tactics because of the Brotherhoods interaction with other settlements in the wastelands. I really think it's a good opportunity for good storytelling, which I think Bethesda wasted.

Anyways, a story about a mercenary or bounty hunter would be something I'd like to do. I haven't really thought about it before though.
