Fallout: New Vegas Gamefest Cam Footage

I gotta agree. I'm not of fan of having an ass load of Vaults, but if they are done right, then ok, but if they are loaded with faux-horror and clones that scream Gary, then no thanks. I'll have to hold out on an opinion on the ones in New Vegas until I play the game, but if they done in a similar way to the ones in FO2 then that I don't mind.

The multiple vaults in fo2 were great

Well, Fallout 2 just got Vault City, Vault 13 and Vault 15. That's three big vaults over the whole big area. In Fallout 3, you get like what ...6? vaults in this small DC area. So far it looks like New Vegas will have at least 3 as well. What's so hard in making one huge single vault in the area... I bet you can add at least the same amount of stuff to explore in there.

I mean, I don't care if these are normal bunker... but vaults?

Again. I don't think its the # but whether they contribute anything

I have to think the number matters to a degree. There were only so many ever made (122 or whatever) and logically they would be spread throughout the entire nation. So having more than 1 or maybe 2 within walking distance of 1 city is excessive.

I agree with the above comment that there can be other types shelters to explore. After all since most of the vaults we will explore are already open and non-functional, why not just make it the "Los Vegas Civil Defense Bunker", made by the city/state instead of Vault Tech? It can still be a underground complex with some computers, supply closets, cots, etc... Just a lower quality of building materials, a smaller door, and no VaultTech references.

Then it would add to the depth of the Fallout Universe (since realistically there would have been other projects constructing shelters), and Vaults could remain a rare and richly developed piece of Fallout games plots.

They have already established in fo2 that vaults were built fairly densely around pop centers.

Understand what you ate saying, it would be better to have more mariposa military bases then to have a ton of vaults

I don't think that is what he is saying at all what I think he is trying to say is that we need to have a logical placement of vaults, two is plenty, three at most, make the rest more like things commissioned by private businesses, tiny little private locations people used to wait out.
