Fallout on PSP: It works... almost

Hi,

I've tried running Fallout 1 on my PSP using Dosbox Emulator. It loads up to the "Now Loading" screen, but then goes back to Dos. I think that maybe with some fixes by an professinal the game could run on the PSP!
 
Be sure you have Direct X(which Im not entirely sure works with PSP hardware)

BTW, Running Fallout with Dosbox...You mean with Windows 95?

Fallout was actually released for DOS and should work with Dosbox, but I'm unsure if this is actually a separate version from the Windows-version.

If so, that's probably your problem right there, Jay-F, you're trying to get the Windows 95 version to run on Dosbox, you need the DOS version.
 
I'm using the dos executable delivered in the 1.1 Dos update for FO. I would like to take a picture, but I cant find my camera atm. I'll try make a video with my webcam.
 
Sorry for bumping this, I just really need some help. I'm running CFW 3.85 M33-5 with dosbox .71. Fallout loads up hooray!

The original install CD of fallout 1 has the DOS files in it, the best way to do it is install the Windows version on your PC as the largest install. Open the file called DOS and copy everything out of it. Paste the files in the main folder of your fallout game, replacing the windows EXE with the dos version. Copy the entire game to your dosbox folder on your psp, rename the fallout.bat to fallout.exe. Make a bat with your own key config that runs fallout.exe at the end. Name it start.bat navigate your way to that bat on your psp and run it. I have copies of all my Dosbox and fallout configs and my start.bat to make it "runable" if you want them.

Ok so now, what I need help with is making it playable. Does anyone know of a better fallout or dosbox config to optimize it? Or maybe just a super speed hack?

amazing. PSP is simply amazing. I knew you can emulate PSone games on it, but to think it can run dos games too.. I really need to get one asap. I always wanted to play supaplex on a portable gaming system :D

Secondly, YOU'RE CREATING A MONSTER! NOOOOOOO!
You do realise what'll happen:
Step 1. Install Fallout on portable console.
Step 2. Take PSP on the train with you.
Step 3: Become hopelessly absorbed in the game, lose all track of time, then realise you're at the end of the line and you're now in Scotland. :lol:
Fallout on the PC is a bad enough time-sink, but PORTABLE? :D
 
Only 12 years hahaha, but... There it is! It's fully working! A thread of mine on Reddit on how to put Fallout fast enough to be playable (at least for me it's enough) ().
