Fallout soundtrack

Put acm2wav in the music directory of Fallout, which will be on your hard disk. Go to command prompt and navigate to that directory. Then type this:

acm2wav 20car.acm

20car is the Highwayman soundtrack. Just replace 20car.acm with any of the acms in the music folder that you want to convert to wav. The wav will be created in the same folder as the acms and the acm2wav program.

Slightly off topic, but just in case you don't know already, the FO:T ambient soundtrack mp3s are on CD 2, if you look in
cd2/core/music

Good to know though..

I'd previously forgotten about this page but when I saw this post I checked through some old links and I found this lying around amongst the cobwebs.

It’s got a fair few of the sound tracks from FO1 and F02. As far as I know there isn’t any material from Tactics in there but I could be wrong.

Anyways, use as you will.

Fallout mp3's

Merging, unlocking and gravedigging this.

I wanted to ascertain which track names from the soundtrack correspond to which ACM files?

Mark Morgans soundtrack lists the following:
Code:
01. Metallic Monks
02. Desert Wind
03. Trader's Life
04. Vault of the Future
05. Industrial Junk
06. Moribund World
07. Vats of Goo
08. City of the Dead
09. Second Chance
10. Underground Troubles
11. City of Lost Angels
12. Follower's Credo
13. Radiation Storm
14. Acolytes of the New God
15. Flame of the Ancient World
16. Khans of New California

Which would correspond to:

Code:
01. 04BRTHRH.ACM
02. 07DESERT.ACM
03. 01HUB.ACM
04. 06VAULT.ACM
05. 12JUNKTN.ACM
06. 03WRLDMP.ACM
07. 08VATS.ACM
08. 14NECRO.ACM
09. 15SHADY.ACM
10. 13CARVRN.ACM
11. 10LABONE.ACM
12. 16FOLLOW.ACM
13. 09GLOW.ACM
14. 11CHILRN.ACM
15. 02MSTRLR.ACM
16. 05RAIDER.ACM

IS that by all means correct? I wanted to know particularly if the name of the track corresponding to the music played in the Khan camp in Fallout and the Den in Fallout 2 is "Khans of New California", because I haven't heard it before.

I also wanted to know if the ACMs from Fallout 2
Code:
17ARROYO.ACM
18MODOC.ACM
19RENO.ACM
20CAR.ACM
21SF.ACM
22VCITY.ACM
23WORLD.ACM
24REDD.ACM

have any 'names' of their own?

Also: Odin, I did some cleaning up and adding in the music Downloads at http://www.3ddownloads.com/nma-fallout/ , some links to files might have been invalidated, but I added some missing files and IMHO it's much better now :)

For all the people who are having troubles with sped up files after converting [which happens with files from the 'master.dat']:

*Open sound recorder
*Open the wav file
*Click effects, Decrease Speed
*File is fixed!

:D

Just curious, where did you get this list of Track Names? Was this from Interplay?

fallout music?

the soundtracks to fallout + fallout 2 are among the best game soundtracks i have ever heard, well ok, they are the best.

i'd like to know who is responsible for them, there are a few names in the credits.

also, i recall hearing one of the tracks on an episode of the X-files, any reason for this?
