I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned this here. Just got the game and man does it seem sweet. I can without a doubt say that the graphics and physics are without par so far in FPSs. The story is nothing special but the overall feel is awesome. Also the AI seems damn good. I think that HL2 and Doom3 might have a real rival in this one, both engine-wise and original game-wise.
 
It looks cool, but I don't think Doom3 or Half Life 2 have anything to worry about. I had never heard about Far Cry until someone mentioned it in passing, and Half-Life and Doom already have a built in fan base.

The game does look pretty hot, though.
 
Yeah, but I had trouble running the demos, even though I have a P4 2.4 GHz, 1.5 gig of RDRAM, a Geforce 4 Ti4600 and Win XP. Is the full game more stable? I'd really like to know if I'll be able to play it, before I go buy it.
 
It has been rock stable so far at my Athlon XP 2200+ 1Gig DDR and Radeon 9800. A patch has also been released, apparently fixing many of the GeForce related problems.

But as critics put it, XBox version; best game for the XBox since Halo

That's scary

It's building a fanbase fast
 
Eh? Didn't even know they had an xbox version coming out. Maybe I'll buy that instead, then.
 
we're gonna get them all anyway' so what's the diffrent anyway?

the grafix are stunning(water,ahh), the AI is nothing i ever experienced("go behind him!left ! right!", etc,etc)

my kind of modern shoot'em'up ;)
 
Too bad the AI is pretty dumb in small, indoor places, none the less I'll buy it as soon as I get a DVD drive.
 
Having played a bit more now, I just have to say wow. It's friggin breathtaking, I'd say this is what Halo should have been. The vehicle physics are a lot more fun than Halo. The mix between outdoor/indoor and sneaking/action/suspense is just about perfect. Have noticed some slight texture clipping problems, but you soon forget about them.

Also, some of the underground areas actually remind me a bit of fallout. Sometimes you get that military base/vault feeling, and the mutants are a bit like FO mutants.

Also took a quick peek at the editor. Seems pretty user friendly, a bit like the Morrowind editor, only a lot more powerful.
 
The game is really cool, graphics are amazing for the time being anyway. You start on this tropical paradise with birds fish and trees swaying to the wind. The game is great till you get chased by a mutated monkey and then the fatboys. Anyway if you got a good computer try it out!
 
Is anyone still playing this game? I find the multitplayer kinda fun were you can actually use stealth and succede against other humans, but a lot of people on the official forums say that its too slow and doesnt have enough action. I'm affraid crytek is going to do something and overcompensate, but I probably wont be playing it long if Ubi or Crytek dont start adding some cool features and patch it up regularly.

The Single player was fun in some levels and gay in others, the ones with the vehicles were usually pretty cool. The story was pretty bad but in most FPS's that pretty regular.
 
eehh, the multiplayer is really boring in my mind, its like everyone camps in a bush and snipes you the moment you leap for a better gun. Single player is fun mostly because of the special effects, I stopped playing because of those damn fatboys, im suppose to reach some base or something but its guarded by a ton of fatboys so I stopped :S ohh and I play on the hardest setting.
