I would imagine that whatever he makes would be from an IP that he controls, so the "obvious choice" would probably be a Bards Tale sequel (in terms of recognition at least).
Then there is Dragon Wars as was mentioned (which i really liked back in the day).
But yes, something "different" certainly sounds appealing... something sci-fi perhaps (since we just had a post apocalyptic game). The problem is that i cant really think of any that are not under the control of someone who'd want a ton of money for the IP. A game along the lines of "Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday" would be fun to see "modernized", well, in my opinion of course
