Feargus == Leaving

Roshambo

Antediluvian as Feck
Rumors seem to be confirmed, and waiting for official word from Feargus/Interplay/BIS. There also seems to be word that more from BIS might be leaving, resulting in even more possibility that some hints from BIS to Digital Morons about the material used in Fallout: POS might not be forthcoming.

Therefore, it might be left to the fans if we "politely" tell Chuck where his head is obviously lodged, along with the dire need for a Cluepon to be given to him about the Fallout setting, as it's obviously not coming from Interplay and it's doubtful that BIS will be able to hand it to him along with a much-needed kick up the ass.

(Insert obligatory insult aimed at Interplay/Titus here that essentially says "You're fucked" in French.)

This is causing havoc on BIS boards

but he already said to someone you know it still wasn`t time to talk.

Well it seems i`m going to get late to bed again...

my dear god, I always had some hope about this... now I say, we're fucked! :(

is there a chance someone buy fallout copyright? maybe we could donate money and buy it off :)

My guess, not going to happen... Tim Cain said he'd asked IPLY to buy the Fallout brand, they refused.
What's probably going to happen is that IPLY goes out of business, then the investors behind it all get some pieces here and there and voila..no more Fallout.. crap... Let's get them to release the source code before they fall over and die on us..

If Feargus leaves, I'm hoping he has a lead on another job....I wouldn't leave my job unless I had another lined up.

Let's hope he takes other BIS employees....loyal to Feargus's vision, that way they can start their own company.

No way was Interplay going to make FO3 in the next 2 years anyway. Feargus will do what Tim Caine did, make a D&D game for money, then get back to basics (PRAY)

Maybe he's joining the Troika crew ? haha..that would be fun..

But nontheless I have to say good luck to good old Fergie, hope you get what you want.

Actually if IPLY goes out of business / bankrupt, there is a greater chance that you would be able to acquire the Fallout assets. It would just take (a) a corporate form or non-profit form and (b) money.

Remember, if IPLY is in their death spiral their creditors are going to be chomping at the bit to get any and all cash that might be available.

i'm glad Feargus is leaving, and i hope he joins Troika. Troika is owned by Sierra, who are a very powerful and respectable company and, unlike Interplay, have enough money to buy Fallout licence and possibly have Troika develop Fallout 3.
i'm just hoping that Interplay doesn't fall into hands of Electronic Arts or Microsoft, because then we'll almost certainly see more bad Fallout action rip-offs that have nothing to do with actual Fallout.

Not quite right. Troika isn't owned by anyone but the developers themselves and perhaps stockholders, if they went that route.

very well, forgive the mistake. if Troika is owned by developers, that's an even more ideal situation.

May be a redux, but this is taken from the Somethingawful.com boards.

Word on the other game boards (qt3, gonegold, etc) is that he left because his team hadn't been paid recently.
What's funny is Troika evidently tried to buy the Fallout license from Interplay, but they wanted too much money. I'm sure Interplay will get all they're asking for when their doors close.
