Finesse Realistic Weapons Mod

You can lower the action points it takes to fire a gun in the mapper, but i think the only way to reduce the reload tiem was to assign the fast reload perk to the gun.

If wild qwerty's hero frm's enables me to use full burst with the pistol (i think it does) it will have a burst mode :) Its going to replace the needler with the equalibruim pistol because who uses the needler gun?

Hehehehe I made a FRM for a Desert Eagle with a Compensator a while ago, the idea was that becuase of the reduced recoil that it would take one less action point to fire it than the standard Desert Eagle. It was going to be one of those upgrades that someone could do.

I was going to use my same deagle (silver) pic for the deagle mk2 and it would have the firing pin filed down on it for a like 2lb trigger so it would shoot faster and have a 3-shot burst mode :) Now people will actually have a use for the deagle mk2.

Your m60 pic looks good and I might switch it with might other one if I can get the green lettering off.. as for the m16 and others I have some other great stuff that will suite your needs.... trust me :)

One question: have you been able to create a single palette that you can apply to any gun image you come across, or do you have to fine tune them for each weapon?

Shawaa?! I just use adobe photoshop 7 and I use the program bmp2frm to convert the psd files (it converts the psd files and lots more) but theres 1 thing... everypic I made have been modified alot! I took me several hours just to figure out how to make decent looking frm's...

I have only come across 1 picture that fallout2 didnt like and it wasnt that speacial anyway...

But remember... Adobe Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro Is Of The Path!! Trust me :) I have psp9 but I use adobe photoshop7 because it grew on to me...

I'll make a guide one day but for now im working on the mod.
 
I was pretty busy today but I managed to sqeeze off 4 pics... I personally think I might redo the top minigun, what do you guys think? Its not hard for me to redo pics :)

Some of this guns and ammo are really good, better that already known in any Fallout game.
 
The top minigun looks ok, I just think the back handle looks a bit, odd?

Is that the new .223 pistol? Seems like the original F2 art and yours are the "blade runner" pistol. I liked the movie dont get me wrong, but I would like to see what it would come out like if it actually was any rifle sawed down to a pistol size.

The grey minigun looks great, and so does the jackhammer!

You'll find an MG3 (modern version of MG-42 in 7.62x51mm) and tons of more weapons in the FO2 Expansion mod Dude_Obj and me have been working on. I'm also considering 7.92x57mm ammo so an MG-42 may also make it in the end.

Nice work on the weapons Finesse, I like the second minigun the best; the Jackhammer though could use some more work to get rid of the light blue highlights.

If you are looking for 3d models or just rendered images I suggest you check out this site.
 
Agreed doom marine... im going to redo the silver minigun and post it up sometime... I like decker's gun, I got the idea off of lich's mod blacksteel and found a different picture and made it :)

Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to make an M16A2/M203 where the burst would be normal bullets and single fire a grenade launcher? (firing something like a rocket)
 
The engine is very limited on what you can do with weapons; you can't have both attack modes deal different types or amounts of damage.

You could have the M203 as a stand alone item but if you wanted it as a AR/GL combo the only way you could make it is scripting it.

Alright, ill fix up the pancor... thanx for the 3d models tip but I like to use more 'realistic' weapons, its just what I prefer :) Nice work with your f2 expation pak.
 
Finesse, this is awesome. So awesome that I had to register so I could give input and make it even better.

Things I noticed:

-Try not to use gun pics that cover the ammout of APs needed, the name of the gun, or the little Target icon for people without Fast Shot. I know it's hard to find good pics of the larger guns that don't get in the way, but its important if you want the mod to feel polished.

The AK47 could use a better pic with a different angle that shows off the signature banana clip. Here's one I found. It would have to be rotated forward so the barrel would point diagonally down and the stock upwards.


The ideal pic would be somewhere between our two pics, though.
