So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
Orderite
Hey guys,

Until a few days ago, Firefox always kept my usernames and passwords remembered, so when I went to a site (NMA for example), it would automatically log me in.

Now (since it updated to the newest version) it'll remember my usernames and passwords, but I must enter it manually every time I open the browser.

Anybody else come across this? If so, how did you fix it?

I've made sure that the "Clear private data" box isn't checked, etc.

Go to tools -> options and go to the security tab and see if 'Remember passwords for sites' is ticked.

It is.

I also just did a fresh install of Firefox, and it didn't help it.

hrm, i dont have this problem in opera

they even allow you to export these settings for a backup in case upgrading doesnt work.

but then again, i just click on a wand near address bar and even if it forgot the username/pass via cookies, it will automagically put in your username/pass for that site as long as you entered it before.

opera > fireshit :)

opera sets the standard for browsers as far as i'm concerned, but it's too strict. it just doesn't support a shitload of sites (and that's not opera's fault, but still a usability problem).

as for the issue above, can't you just do the remember me checkbox thing at the login screen of the forum? seems like a cookie issue, not a password issue.

Opera sucks my nutsack.

BAM! Problem solved.
In case it wasn't clear, follow this link to solve your password problem, faggots.

Also, yeah, Opera may be super great at being Jesus' Ball Hair, but it can't load half of all sites...I gave up after a month or two of great frustration. Fuck it.

I've yet to meet a site opera can't load.

Firefucks was good for a while because it was alot harder to get viruses, but now it's the damn standard for everyone, so now it's just back to the same old problems.

What? It's still a lot harder to get infected using Firefox than using IE and other browsers. My parents' computer is almost completely clean ever since I forced them to use Firefox. When they were using IE, all kinds of malware broke the system every few months.

Opera is, as far as I know, still the most standard-adhering browser available. If it can't open a particular site, the fault is almost certainly with the site's developers. In which case I can only commend Opera for failing to render someone's malformed HTML and profess my wish that other browsers follow suit and discourage shitty authoring practices.

This is true, but it's also exactly why it's a completely useless browser to use. You don't use this shit in the field, sonny.

Naw, I know that, I'm just saying that one of the reasons alot of people I knew were moving into Firefox was because there were like no viruses. I even went over to Firefox for a bit, but now that Firefox is becoming the new big standard for everyone it's getting plenty of viruses.

Opera is okay, I do just wish it could get more sites than it does.

i have found several web pages that dont load properly.

but they are usually warez sites and other not on the up-and-up style web page.

if opera wont open it, i dont go there.

in most ways, opera is far more standards aherent than firefox/IE. IE 8 cant even pass the acid 2 test, opera since 9.50 passed it, and firefox 1.x/2.x only passed acid 2 test with plugins that fake the test.

there are lots of points of standards aherance that opera does not follow that firefox does. like 100% compatability with java. which is bad. 100% compatability for some flavors of unix text documents. which is very bad.

basically, opera is far more standards adherent, but they purposely block portions of standards that create security issues which firefox doesnt even try to stop.

it should really tell you something that many of the "uniqe" features of opera can be done in firefox with plugins. the big question is, if the features are so desired, why are they not included in firefox natively without needing plugins?

maybe because opera is the better browser?

whats popular is not always whats best.

IE is very popular, has many issues

Fx is pretty popular, has some issues

opera is not popular, has very few issues

and i have never had a problem with my opera password function breaking. yet it does in Fx... but you are right, Fx is much better than opera.

you keep using Fx and having problems while i use opera without issues.
