FO 2 Mods

Muddy

First time out of the vault
I finished the normal game three times, so I'm wondering about what kind of mods are avaiable for it. I checked the NMA downloads section and was a bit confused with the mods there, because seems to me that most of them are just modifications of the existent weapons or power gaming things like all 10 atribute characters or hint book avaiable at the start. What I really was looking for are mods that add new areas, quests or even a new storyline. I don't even know if such mods are possible with the game engine or not. So my question is there is some kind of mod like what I described? Which mods do you guys consider the best ones to play?

Humm, guess I will have to look more for a good mod then...

Does anyone know another site with mods info?

PS: Briosafreak, I noticed your location is Portugal, are you portuguese? I'm asking because I'm brazilian and would be nice to have some portuguese speaking people around...

You're absolutely correct about the mods, they only change weapons, stats etc.. and not new maps and such, but we didn't have the Mapper or the official editors untill now. So I'd expect several mods to appear quite soon..

Oh thanks Odin,

I didn't knew the kind of mods avaiable, becuase I didn't have a clue of how mod friendly the game engine is. I remember to read eons ago that the official editing tools COULD be released. By your post I assume that they finnaly released them. That's nice to know, I hope some good mods will arose soon...

There are many new locations and twists to the plot beeing made right now, since the editor came out, but it will take some time until something good arises, maybe the Last Bastion (Fallout-Fantasy) will succeed in making a huge total conversion out of the game.

E benvindo Muddy, quando precisares de alguma coisa é sò dizer

Obrigado Brios, meu inglês não é muito bom, então talvez eu precise mesmo de alguma ajuda...

Sorry, I was just talking to Brios because he can speak my first language, portuguese which is more easy for me. I reckon that I should have used a PM. I will refrain from posting in portuguese again...

Just you be sure not to say anything nasty about anyone in your native tongue, I'm skilled enough in...5 languages (and 2 dead ones) to know if you are, 6 if you count the combination of Spanish and Latin to form a basic understanding of Portuguese. Portuguese sure's differen't from Spanish, though.

Oh, and it's no biggy, just, like, don't do it again.

Has anyone tried the Vertibird mod? The readme says there are some new npcs ect. But I haven't noticed any and I looked in both places specifed.

Point taken...

Damn, so there goes my hopes of cursing you all without being noticed.

About the Vertibird mod, seems it can be a good one. But I probably will wait for a mod that make more extensive changes...

Klamath-Arroyo

To be honest most of the Mods don't seem that interesting. I mean the challenge of the game should be about finding weapons and getting them later. So the longer the development in the early game the better.

I have been playing with the Klamath_arroyo mod and its been a lot of fun becuase its given both those towns new depth.

Let be honest, the best part of FO 2 was the beginning when you are struggling to get going.

ANyway try it out. The Temple of Trials is much harder, and there are more side quests when you get out, more dialogue, new items.

Bugs, yes. I am having some trouble with rats in Klamath, but you can get past it.

the deep impact gameplay mod is also great as it is like playing the game the first time as all the items and descriptions and stats are different. good fun if you are experienced at the game

Re: Hey muddy

Humm, I did not visited this thread for some weeks. It's good to note that in this meantime some news about mods being developed have been around. I'm specially interested in the Fallout Yurop mod, it looks exactly what I'm looking for...
